"So I take it Shayne is with his girlfriend then," Courtney claimed. The rest of the party at the lunch table muttered in agreement, making Courtney laugh lightly.
"There she is," Noah nudged his chin in the direction of the school doors. To which everyone looked.
Shayne walked happily down the path, holding Sarah's hand. He was looking at her with admiration. He looked happy that she was back. Sarah was also smiling at something Shayne had said.
"Ooh, she looks pretty," Courtney noted. Keith and Noah beamed wholeheartedly at her words. Olivia's facial expression didn't change.
"Shayne sure thinks so," Noah chuckled.
"They look good together," Courtney added.
"They do."
"Is she in our squad?"
"Well she's associated with our squad, is all I can say," Keith answered.
"Coolio," Noah uttered.
"Hey guys, you know Sarah. Well except for Court. Courtney, this is Sarah. Sarah, Courtney," Shayne introduced sheepishly.
"Hi, nice to meet you. Shayne was telling me about another person and a squad," Sarah said, sitting down. Shayne sat next to her. To make space, Olivia scooted closer to Courtney's side. Almost right against each other. Their legs brushed against each other though they paid no attention to it.
"Yeah, apparently I fit the bill for this squad of misfits," Courtney shrugged. "I've been hearing so much about you, they said you were on a trip?"
"Yeah, school trip. Nothing too big," Sarah explained.
"Alright. Well hey, are you coming to the party on Friday? The one at Ian's?" Courtney asked.
"Yeah, it sounds like fun. First party while I'm back."
"Great, everybody else good to go? Noah? Planning to be sick again or-?" Courtney teased.
"Nah, this is one, I wouldn't miss. It's going to be interesting, I swear it," Noah grinned.
The guys understood what he meant.

"Hey Thiefy, you keep hitting me with your elbow," Courtney said, looking at Olivia's elbow jabbing her side.
"Oh sorry," Olivia pulled her elbow back.
"Thiefy?" Sarah repeated lowly to Shayne.
"It's just their thing. I don't think either of us could understand if we tried," Shayne whispered back.
"It's cute, you gotta admit," Noah budded in, speaking quietly as well.
"Thiefy as in just a Thief? What'd she steal?"
Noah and Shayne exchanged a glance.
"Maybe it is symbolism, what do you think she stole?" Noah asked.
"Are we whispering now?" Courtney joined in, having not heard their previous words.
"Are we gossiping?" Keith also joined.
"Ooh let's share secrets," and finally, Olivia started whispering as well.
"I'll go first. Sarah, since I'm not out to you yet, hi. How're you? 'Tis I, the lesbian at this table," Courtney said.
"Hey that's great," Sarah replied.
"Yeah and if you have any lesbian friends, I'm down to mingle," Courtney winked.
In that moment, everyone but Sarah and Courtney widened their eyes. Though the two girls hadn't noticed as they kept talking. Sarah informing her that she doesn't currently.
Olivia's jaw dropped opened. She didn't really know how to react. It hadn't occurred to her that Courtney was still looking for a relationship. It almost made her feel...
Worried?
Unsure mostly.
Jealous. That's it.
But why?
Oh no, am I jealous that Courtney is ready to mingle and meet new people while I've been pining after James? That has to be it!
Noah watched Olivia's expression. She looked shock, but there was something else. Something Noah couldn't decipher.

Noah and Keith were talking to each other on their side of the table. The other four people were also having their own conversation during this fine lunch hour when Noah moved to grab his water bottle.
"Oh shit!" Keith exclaimed when the water bottle landed on him. The lid unscrewed, spilling the liquid all over him.
"Shit sorry Keith!" Noah said when he realized what happened after Keith was soaked.
"This isn't water, what is this?" Keith asked, feeling the sticky substance.
"Its grape juice, I was craving it this morning," Noah explained, grabbing the napkins from everyone's trays. The other four around the table watched the couple, stifling fits of giggles.
"Come on Saviour, let's save Keith and get paper towel from the janitors closet," Olivia tugged on Courtney's sleeve. She mostly wanted an out from the situation to be able to laugh at loud without getting crap for it.
Courtney gasped. "I'll save you Keith!" Courtney maneuvered out from around the table and followed Olivia.

When they got inside, the girls stopped to laugh for a minute.
"Grape juice," Courtney said as they laughed.

After they recomposed themselves, Olivia lead the way to the closet.
"I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of hoping this closet locks us inside so we get trapped until further noticed," Courtney confessed as they walked.
"Really? Why?" Olivia asked as she scanned through doors.
"I don't know, I feel like it'd be fun with you," Courtney shrugged.
"Right here," Olivia pointed. She knocked on the door, then grabbed the knob.
Inside, the pair searched the shelves. Courtney kept the door open with her foot.
"Up there," Courtney pointed to the top shelf.

Olivia hopped down with the roll in her hand, smiling to Courtney.
"That all?" Courtney asked, her hand fumbling the walls for the light switch.
"Wait, you wanna be trapped in here with me you said?" Olivia asked, grabbing her arm to stop. She swiftly pulled Courtney forward and out of the doors way. Courtney just watched the girl's actions.
When the door shut, Olivia grinned. Locking the door from the inside.
"Oh no Court, we're trapped."
