The den had a brick design on the walls and lights that shown like spot lights down onto the hardwood floor. Down a set of stairs and a small hall and into the den the group of six went. Ian and David were talking down there already. Seated on two separate red couches.
"Can I be the first to say you have a really nice house," Noah complimented to Ian as soon as they came in.
"Thank you, but I wasn't the designer," Ian replied, smiling.
The dance music upstairs pounded silently upstairs, as if trying to break through the walls and door.
"David...When did ya get here?" Courtney asked, noticing his dull red-orange hair. She'd be stumbling more in her steps had it not been for Anthony and Olivia's grip in her arms. Steadying her. They sat her down on a love seat, which Olivia also sat down at.
"I was invited. You know how cool it is to be personally invited to a party?" He grinned.
Shayne sat next to David, introducing themselves before turning to the two hosts. Keith sat next to Shayne and Noah sat on the couch's armrest. Anthony brought a tray of shots to the centre coffee table."Courtney, truth or dare?" Anthony asked. He grinned to her thinking face, and quickly shot a glance to Shayne, Keith and Noah.
"Dare Anthong," Courtney smiled devilishly.
"Ever have a fireball before?"A few rounds later, David had a question for Courtney. He knew that everyone was on his back about not bringing anything up to either girl but he really wanted to know what she was going to say.
"Courtney, truth or dare?" David asked after it was finally his turn. He was stripped of his shirt.
"Umm, truth," she answered. She didn't like the drink before so she was playing it just a little bit safe.
"Do you have a crush on someone?" David asked.
"Of course," Courtney shrugged it off.
"Well I mean, in the school." He remembered a vague piece of info about her and a date.
"In the school?" Courtney repeated shakily. Her mind was sobering as she knew she was going to keep her secret no matter what. "Yes?"
"Are they in this room?" David leaned closer to her as his last question was almost a whisper.
Some of the boys stared at either David or Courtney. Ian took the initiative to distract Olivia after Courtney shot her a wavered glance.
"So Olivia, having fun so far?" Ian asked, leaning towards her. Nobody but Olivia heard it because they were all focused on Courtney's answer.
"Yeah, why?" Olivia replied.
"No reason. Have enough to drink?" Ian scooted forward to fix her a new drink. Olivia missed Courtney's answer."N-No, they're not in here," Courtney said worriedly. Do they know? Courtney asked herself.
David studied her face a little bit more before dismissing everything and grabbing for his cup. Courtney's heartbeat sped up.
"Let's play something else," Courtney suggested. She realized that was a really close call. Unless they already know, Courtney figured.
"A new game? But we've hardly had fun yet-"
"Let's play something to drink to. Come on," Courtney urged.
"Spin the bottle?" Anthony suggested, again, quickly glancing to the three guys.
"Spin the bottle? Do you know the ratio of gays to straights there are in this room? And the ratio of who's taken to who's not? And the ratio of boys to girl?" Courtney asked, obviously more sober.
"No? Umm, we can play fuck, marry, kill," Ian suggested.
Keith sighed. Two of their planned schemes were crumbling. It made the third seem useless. They seemed better without us, Keith thought.
Courtney shrugged. She chose to abandon her drink because didn't want it anymore. She didn't want to be drunk any more than she is.
"Okay...Umm, who's going first?" Anthony asked. He agreed that now it was awkward with whatever they had planned.
"I'll go. Noah," Keith started.
Courtney sat inwardly on the couch now. She noticed Olivia was having more to drink. All of a sudden, she lightly slumped to Courtney's side. Laying her head on her shoulder.
"This is boring," Olivia whispered.
"I agree. We should go back to mine and sleep this off," Courtney whispered. Olivia hummed.
"Go back to yours," Olivia smiled. She closed her eyes, and sighed.
"Courtney," David called. "We're gonna do people in this room-"
"Oh come on, there's one girl in this room. What do you think I'm going to choose?" Courtney said sharply. Luckily, Olivia wasn't in her right mind to hear, render or care for what she said.
Finally, the hope that either of the boys had of helping the two, was gone. It's time they step off.
