Olivia had gone home later. Courtney had spent the night laying around all of Saturday. She didn't feel like she had the energy to do much of anything.
Sunday
Olivia knocked on the door. She was visiting her best friend again to comfort her. She'd imagine Courtney might want to take it easy.
Olivia knocked lightly on Courtney's door after being let in. She creaked it open, to see Courtney laying over her blankets. Her head was at the foot of the bed as she stared at the ceiling. Her hand was resting at the window sill beside her. It was raining again, so her window was open. Olivia noted the papers tossed over her floor, and her pencils and colours seemed to have dropped from her table over the paper.
"Everything okay Bae?" Olivia asked, leaning against her doorframe.
"You know what?" Courtney said instead of answering. "Everyone seems to use the word rehash only when talking about getting back together with a troubling ex," Courtney turned to face her. Olivia looked noticed the bags under her eyes and that they were a little bit glossy.
"Are you okay Courtney?" Olivia asked, walking in and shutting the door.
"Can I tell you a story?" The blonde sat up and motioned to the spot beside her.
"Is it a real story?"
"Maybe. It's about two girls who lived in Sherman Oaks and they had a special relationship. Not special as in good, it wasn't a good. They always got into fights and maybe they shouldn't have been together at all in the first place. Except one of then was manipulative and our fateful hero should've realized way sooner then she did. She always went back. Whenever the villain got mad at our hero, she went off and slept with someone. A boy, to hurt the hero and it always did. The evil girl was bisexual and our hero was rainbows since birth," Courtney explained. Olivia connected the characters from her story to their real lifd counterparts.
"Then finally the hero wanted to end things for good. But it didn't last long, because they ended up having a...A friend's with benefit type deal right? So it didn't take long over that summer for her to want to be with her for real again. So she moved. She moved because her mind was getting wrapped around dating others and dating the girl and then her grades were dropping and it was all falling onto her shoulders. So she left to live with her sister in an amazing city with amazing people and everything was okay," Courtney laid back down and closed her eyes. "Until the evil ex moved with her family to a nearby area. Our hero thought she could stay away easily until she felt...stressed...I think. I don't remember that part, but yeah. She got sucked back into her black hole to get her mind off of things. She hated it but she benefitted from it. But everyone thought it was a real thing between us. Even I did. Then there was a party...after that we broke up and now she is done too. Because we're too much to handle together."
Olivia crashed down beside her and pulled her closer. She rested her head over Courtney's chest like yesterday except their positions were flipped. The blonde happily rested her arm over Olivia's back to rub it slowly.
"The story has an ending but I can't tell you."
"Is it the secret?" Olivia whispered. She moved her hand to grasp her shoulder, as she put her left leg in between Courtney's to try to get comfortable. Courtney tried to steady her breathing so the girl cuddling her wouldn't notice.
"Y-Yeah, it is. I promise I'll tell you though," she answered.
"Soon?"
Courtney felt the pressure to tell her now. To tell Olivia how much she truly likes her. "I promise.""What happened to your room?" Olivia asked later. They were still cuddling. Still holding onto each other.
"I don't know, maybe it was a ghost," Courtney smiled. She highly enjoyed having Olivia in her arms.
"Were you drawing before?"
"Maybe the ghost was."
"What were you drawing?"
"Maybe it gave up before since everything in on the floor?"
"Is that what happened?"
"Maybe."
"What were you trying to draw?"
"Maybe you should get a ouija board and ask it yourself?"
"I'm serious Court-Court, I'm curious."
"Maybe it tried to draw what it felt. Emotions and abstract feelings instead of physical objects?" Olivia stayed quiet. She thumbed over Courtney's arm.
"What emotions?" She whispered.
"Everything there is to feel. It's just colours over full pages. I threw most of them out because they didn't make sense," Courtney said truthfully. She shifted in a moment and that's when Olivia got off from over her. She sat up and looked around the room. Making Courtney feel a bit sad that she pulled away.
"Can you sing me that song on your ukulele? Like yesterday," Olivia asked, turning back to the girl. There was a hint of excitement and anticipation in her voice, prompting Courtney to say yes.
So that's what she did. She sat down on the floor again like this morning and grazed her fingers over the strings. Getting ready to play the chords."So, their sometime is now, means that they're going to fall in love?" Olivia tried to ask, stumbling in her thoughts. Courtney smiled up to her, moving the instrument beside her on the floor.
"They've already fallen in love, that's why they wrote it. Or that they're in danger of doing so in the presence of that person."
"Right, right. I like it. I like when you sing, you're really good. Would you sing at my wedding?"
Courtney laughed. "Aww come on, we both know you're going to be marrying me!"
"Exactly, would my bride sing for me then?" Olivia adjusted her position, and laid down on Courtney's bed properly. She had the ghost of a smile playing on her lips as she stared at the ceiling, listening to Courtney's movements on the room.
"I'll sing you a thousand songs babe. Everyday of our lives," Courtney's tone got a bit quiet unintentionally.
"Good then." Olivia snuggled up in her blanket, to which Courtney kindly watched.
