Chapter 1: A New Day

"Jake! Come on wake up!"
His mother shouted.
"I will!"
He yells back.
"In ten minutes."
He whispers.
"Your friends are here!"
He opened his eyes and groaned.
"Fine! Tell them I'll be there in 10!"
He pushes his dark blue blanket off. He stood up and stretched. He picked his phone up and looked through his messages. He stopped at Natalies face.
He pressed it and looked at the last time he texted her.
Which was two days ago.
He wrote "Hey Nat, please be safe. You've been gone a while and I can't do this. Please come home."
He sighed and closed his phone.
"COME ON JAKE! Emmas coming home today!"
"Shit."
He completely forgot. He grabbed a blue shirt and black jeans and put them on. He jogged to the bathroom and washed his face. He looked into the mirror to wipe his face when he saw Natalie, drenched, hair was frizzy and her hands where covered in blood. She pointed up and Jake shook his head.
"No...no no no."
He closed his eyes, pulling at his hair.
"JAKE! COME ON DUDE!"
Will called up to him. Jake looked up and saw Natalie was gone. He saw a heart made out of his mother's rose lipstick saying "See you soon."
He grabbed a cloth and wiped as much as he could off and he fixed his hair and ran down stairs. He slipped his phone into his pocket and smiled at Will, Noah, Audrey and Kieran.
"Hey."
"Could you take any longer?"
Audrey asked.
"You can't rush the Jake."
"You're so weird."
Noah said.
Everyone giggled and left the house.
They drove to Kierans house and prepped for Emmas arrival.

"Shes here!"
Emma was walking up the steps to her new homr and she pressed the door bell. Kieran opened it and she walked in.
"Surprise!"
Everyone shouted.
Audrey threw some shredded paper into the air and everyone was silent.
"Guys. You don't have to be silent."
"We are just...speechless."
Noah said.
Jake nodded.
Emma looked at him.
"Well let's party or kinda."
She laughs.
Jake was about to turn the music on but Emmas phone started to ring.
"What?"
"Who is it?"
"It's your mom Noah."
"Oh shoot. I turned my phone off."
He grabbed his phone and everyone did the same.
"Hello?"
Emma picked up the phone.
"Hmmm...wait what. When?"
She looked up at Jake. He looked at his best friend Will with a questioned look.
"Okay. We'll be right there."
"Oh my god."
Noah gasped.
"Jake..."
Emma looked at him.
"It's about Natalie isn't it."
She nodded.
"She's dead isn't she."
"Jake. Don't say that!"
Audrey told him.
"No Jake."
Noah said.
"She's alive...she's at the hospital."
"What..."
He froze. He couldn't believe it.
"Let's go then!"
Will said. He grabbed Jakes shoulders and shook him.
"Jake. She's alive."
He nodded. Will lightly tapped his back and Will door again.
"Who hasn't drank."
"Me!"
Emma raised her hand.
They ran out and jumped into Jakes truck. Jake threw the keys at Emma and Jake, Will, Audrey and Noah sat at the back of the truck while Emma drove and Kieran was passenger.
They drove for 10 minutes and finally arrived at the hospital.
They ran in and people stared at them.
"You!"
Jake yelled at a doctor while files in his hands.
"Have you seen a girl come in. Named Natalie."
"Oh the foste-"
"Daniel I've got it!"
Teresa, Noah's and Natalies mother yelled from behind.
"Follow me."
She had been crying. Her make up was messed and her hair was a mess too.
They all jogged through the hospital till they got to room 124.
"Go in. Only one can visit but we can make an exception."
Jake nodded and they all ran into the room.
They all stood at the doorway and stared at the girl sitting up on the bed.
She had a shower only moments before they arrived, her hair was wet and she looked clean. They glanced over her and she had bruises on her arms, legs, neck and face.
"Oh my god."
Audrey smiled.
"It's really you."
Natalie looked up. She started to cry.
Audrey and Noah ran to her. They gently hugged her and backed away.
Everyone went to see her besides Jake. He just stood at the door.
Noah whispered something in Wills ear and it trailed to everyone else.
"We'll be back. Were gonna get some pizza and drinks."
Emma said with a huge grin.
"And meatballs."
Noah shouted.
Natalie giggled alittle.
They ran out leaving the two of them alone.
"I thought you...were..."
He paused. She stood up, wincing at her arms and legs moving.
"You shouldn't move."
Jake pointed out.
"Oh shut up Jake."
She nearly fell but Jake caught her. She wrapped her arms around him and leaned her head on his chest, under his chin.
He hugged her, he couldn't stop smiling.
"I've missed you so much."
He started to rub her back. He placed his chin on her head and she smelt like lavender and apple cinnamon.
"Please don't leave me again."
"I won't...I promise and you promise, not to leave me?"
"I promise."
They stood there warming eachother, but Jakes phone beeped loud. He stepped back and so did Natalie.
He pulled his phone out and saw a message from Unknown.
"Good Luck trying to keep her. She got away but not for long. I'll start my reign again and you won't even see it coming."
He read it out loud. Natalie was shaking.
"No...please don't leave me."
She started to cry.
Jake hugged her again and said.
"Everything will be okay. I'll protect you...I promise."
