"Hey guys."
Natalie ran up to Noah and Audrey.
"Hey. Where were you last night?"
"Um...I'll tell ya later...what were you guys talking about?"
She sat next to her brother.
"Found a guy who saw Pipers accomplise."
"Oh damn."
"It's amazing."
"Yeah...well we gotta get to class. So let's go."
Audrey stood up and started to walk.
Natalie and Noah followed.
"She's been acting werid lately."
"Yeah. She has."
...
"Hey what up my lakewood seveners!"
Noah yelled!
"Well...there's 5 of us."
Jake and Will were not present.
"Where are they?
Emma asks.
"No clue."
"I guess we will see them in class?"
"Yeah. Wait guys!"
Everyone looked at Natalie.
"Jake and I are...together. Okay."
"That's great!"
"Change the douche for the better."
Kieran said. Emma lightly punched him.
"Thanks guys, for being cool about it."
Everyone smiled and nodded, walking away to go to there classes.
Natalie saw Audrey turn to look at her phone. She looked up and looked at a girl named Haley.
Haley had pranked Audrey at her work weeks ago with her boyfriend. Audrey stabbed him, protecting herself. They deserved everything that happened to them.
Audrey walked to her and they walked up the stairs. Natalie questioned it but she started to walk to her locker.
She opened it and grabbed her binders. She shut it and wasn't paying attention and bumped into a girl.
"Ouch. What the fuck, mind where your going!"
Natalie knew who it was.
"I'm sorry Haley. I didn't mean to."
"You are such a blind bat."
"And your such a bitch. Maybe next time you prank someone, don't do it to a survivor of the lakewood seven hmm."
"I don't give a shit about you lakewood sevens. Your all gonna die anyway."
Haley started to walk away.
Natalie scoffed and pushed her. Haley turned around and faced her.
"You know. Your such a bitch and a slut."
"How am I the slut."
"Tom...Will...and Now Jake. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he's the one dead next."
Natalie started to get angry.
"You motherf-!"
"Wow..."
Stavo came to the picture and grabbed her by the shoulders.
"She isn't worth it."
"Bye bye Nat."
Haley and her friends giggled and walked away.
"Thank you...I would of really hurt her."
He smirked.
...
"Say your a zebra, you need to learn to face the lion. But you don't wanna be on the menu. So, what does the zebra's brain do? It uses nightmares to simulate the conflict...Makes sense, they live there lives of constant fear of being attacked."
Mrs Lang continued to talk as Natalie checks behind her and sees Will and Jake weren't there.
Natalie saw Emma texting.
"I'm worried...Will isn't answering my texts."
Emma said.
"Same here with Jake...I saw him this morning. I'm getting worried."
"Natalie...Emma, can either if you tell us what our friends, the scientists, call this adaptation."
"Something about zebra's and oh...adaptation."
Natalie says with a tone.
The class laughs.
"Yeah but no."
Zoe and Noah put there hands up.
"Threat simulation theory."
They said together, they smile and Natalie giggles.
"Question is: If prey animals dream of their predators, what does the predator dream of?"
Noah questions. Zoe scoffs.
"Girl predators."
The class giggles at Zoes answer.
"The predator is us...human beings."
Stavo speaks out.
Natalie and Emma look back.
Stavo glances at Natalie then back at Mrs Lang.
"Thats right, Stavo. Everything we do, how we think, how we sleep, who we sleep with, what we kill... it's all about one thing: Survival. When that instinct is challenged, our brains go into overdrive. We have to meet that challenge and beat it...or else."
Mr Lang wrote "Team assignment."
"I will be teaming you all up randomly. Girls VS Boys. Please girls over there and boys over here."
The class separated.
"Alright girls. Emma...pick a number."
"5."
Mr Lang picks a sheet of paper out of a box she had in her hands.
"Jake."
Emma smiled. Natalie was happy Jakes partner, not one of the sluts of the class.
"Zoe."
"I'll have 8."
"Oh...Noah."
Zoe smiled at Noah from across the room.
"Natalie."
"Umm...13."
"Stavo."
Natalie glanced at Stavo. He was on his pad, sketching something. Looking up and down at Natalie.
After the teams were sorted, Mrs Lang added.
"You will be choosing, who will be prey and who will be predator. Tomorrow we will work on it."
The bell rings and the students grab there things.
"Hey."
Stavo walked up to Natalie.
"Hi..."
"Well...we are a team now so you better start liking me.
"Um yeah true."
"See ya tomorrow."
"Yeah."
Stavo left the room. Emma walked by her side.
"That guy is werid."
"Abit yeah...he kinda helped me ealier though, i would of punched Haley In the face."
"Why?"
"She said I was a slut and won't be surprised if Jakes the next to be...killed and now I'm getting super worried..."
Natalies phone went off.
- Remember Nat. Go to the ladys of the lake meeting.
She got the message from her mother.
"Oh shoot. I need to go. Lady of the lake auditions."
"Oh okay. See ya later."
"Bye Em."
She ran out and jogged to the meeting.
