Chapter 2. Harry
Liam pulled into the parking lot slowly, as we arrived at the restaurant. I got out of my seat and opened the door for Cassy. She had really grown up, and it surprised me how happy I was to see her. I found that my heart fluttered when she hugged me at the airport.
As I opened the door, I took her hand and pulled her out of the car. She smiled at me brilliantly. She was breathtaking. What was I thinking? This is one of my best mates' little sister. I've known her for almost four years. I remember how she looked as a ninth grader. She was cute, but man, has she become a woman.
"Thank you," her small voice said.
I smiled and said, "You're very welcome. I've missed you, you know." She blushed. She was adorable.
"Really?" I nodded. "Well I missed you too, Harry." She smiled again. She really was gorgeous. How had I not noticed this before? Was it possible that I didn't nine months ago? How much more mature can you get in nine months? Well the product of that was right in front of me. And she definitely had my attention now.
Liam was talking to the valet and handing him his keys. Louis wanted to be with Eleanour tonight. Niall didn't feel like coming. Which is weird because there's food involved. Guess he was just tired. And Zayn said he wanted to hang out with Perrie before they left for tour. So tonight it was just the three of us. I guess Sophia was busy. Thankfully. I didn't really like her all that much. Liam was different around her. I could tell Cassidy didn't like her either. That and she told me.
"Ready?" he asked.
"Yes." Cassidy answered.
We entered the restaurant. The greeter sat us at a table in the back. I couldn't take my eyes off of Cassy. I hope Liam hasn't noticed. She's just so lovely. Whoever held her heart would be very lucky. Oddly enough, as I thought that, a part of me longed for that lucky guy to be me. You've got to get over it, Harry, I thought to myself. It's not going to happen.
Her eyes found mine. I muscled up the confidence not to just look away. We just looked at each other until the waitress came up and asked, "Hi my name is Liza. I'll be your server today. Can I start you with some drinks?"
I looked over at Liam to see if he witnessed our little moment, but his eyes were focused on his phone. Probably texting Sophia.
As he looked up at the waitress he said, "Yes please. I'll take a sweet tea, extra ice, and Cassy wants a coke for sure." She looked over at her brother and shook her head. He smiled and looked back at me. "Harry?"
"Oh umm yeah, just a water please." I said, not really looking at her.
"Of course," she replied, "I'll be right with your drinks and to take your order."
"Thank you," Cassidy said. She was always so polite. Her brother and whole family was like that too. I loved it. What is wrong with me right now?
Cassidy
Harry is being really sweet. I can feel his eyes on me. I wonder why he keeps staring at me. Our eyes met. I was frozen. I was sure he could hear my heart beating. It startled me when the waitress walked up and asked us what we wanted to drink.
"Yes, please," Liam answered, "I'll take a sweet tea, extra ice, and Cassy wants a coke for sure." I shook my head and chuckled under my breath. "Harry?"
He peeled his eyes off of me, reluctantly, and replied, "Oh umm yeah, just a water please." His eyes grazed over the table and floor.
"Of course," she replied, "I'll be right back with your drinks and to take your order." Her eyes clung to Harry. I could feel the heat in my cheeks. She was really pretty. Why am I so upset? He's not mine. And it's pretty improbable that it would ever happen.
