Chapter 10. Harry

Me and Liam were standing in front of Stefanie's door. I found myself getting nervous. I'm not sure why, but I was anxious to see her. After all, it was prom night. I knew she was going to look beautiful. Not that she didn't on a day to day basis. Because trust me, the way I've been watching her for the past two days, I would notice.

He knocked on the door. My heart rate sped. Stefanie's Mom answered the door.

"Oh hello, Liam," she said politely, as she smiled, "Come on inside. The girls will be down in a second."

"Thank you," he replied stepping inside, "This is Harry."

"Oh I know." She winked. "The girls just love you guys."

"Well it's nice to meet you, Mrs. Silvaman." I smiled.

"Nice to meet you too." She left us in the living in front of the staircase. We could still see her in the kitchen as she fixed dinner for her husband and herself.

"You nervous?" I heard Liam ask me.

"'Bout what?" I simply asked back.

"Oh come on, Mate. I know you a bit better than that. You're practically dying to see her. Aren't you?" He smirked.

How could he tell? It's like he knew everything about every solution to everyone's problem, except his own. Other than singing, it was one if his best talents. He's the one we knew we could go to without being judged or picked on. He knew how to fix things that no one else could. I suppose that's why Cassy felt like she could go to him for anything. I felt like I could too.

"Maybe," I hesitantly said. "Why do you insist on getting me to admit it?"

"Because I want her to be taken care of. I know you can do that. But I want reassurance that she'll be protected and well cared after. So if you do end up having feelings for her and you guys start dating, I'll have you promise me that. Just a sense of security." I slowly nodded.

He wanted reassurance. Nothing more nothing less. He wanted to make sure I would take care of his baby girl. That's all I wanted too. Maybe I could confide in him about this. Maybe he would understand and be okay with us.

What am I thinking? I don't even know if she feels the same as me. How am I supposed to ask her brother to date her if I haven't even made sure it's okay with her first? I wish I could talk to her about it now. But that would have to wait.

As if on cue I hear a small voice at the top of the steps say, "Hey. Do you think I look okay?" I looked up to find the most gorgeous young woman I have ever laid eyes on. Dressed in her lace and silk blue dress, hair curled and braided perfectly, makeup flawless. Oh. My. God. She was dazzling.

"Oh Cassy..." My voice trailed off in awe.

Cassidy

God he looked amazing. His eyes clung to every curve and aspect of my face and body. I found myself blushing fiercely.

"Oh Cassy..." He looked at me in amazement. Oh how I've longed for him to look at me like this. A look of love and awe and gentleness. With just the tiniest glint of playfulness and lust in his eyes.

"Cassidy Renee you look absolutely stunning." My brother stole my attention. He looked as handsome as ever. But he wasn't Harry.

"Thanks," I replied, still blushing and smiling shyly. I saw his gaze flick to my left where my best friend stood. I saw him gulp. I couldn't help but smirk as my gaze followed his.

She was gorgeous. Her short straightened blonde hair just barely falling on her shoulders. Her bangs pinned up in a small bump on top of her head with little braids on either side that barely tied together on the ends.

"This was your grand idea?" she whispered angrily at me. I winked. "I hate you."

"Love you too, Hun." I smiled triumphantly as I looked back to Liam. His expression was almost exactly the same as Harry's. Who was still looking at me with the same look on his face. Me and Stef looked at each other and back to the boys. I sensed the smile on her face as a sly one slipped across mine.

We made our way down the stairs. I felt confident in that moment as I took Harry's hand and hugged my brother's neck. He smiled at me looking me up and down.

"You've grown up so much, Cassy-Bear," he said quietly in my ear.

"That's what happens, Bubba." I giggled.

"But it happened so fast..." his voice trailed off sounding kind of emotional.

I released Harry's hand and wrapped both my arms around his neck. "Calm down, Liam. It's only natural."

"I love you, baby girl."

"I love you too."

We broke apart to see Harry and Stef staring at us with smiles. I smiled awkwardly back.

"I suppose we should go," she said. I nodded and smiled timidly at Harry. His smile grew wide, making mine grow as well.

"Yeah," I answered her not looking at her, "Let's go."

This was going to be...interesting. He took my hand once again, and we piled in.
