Chapter 21. Cassidy
"You have a date with Harry and didn't tell me?!" Stefanie asked. Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because you haven't been around for me to tell you," I said kind of grudgingly. "You've been avoiding me all day, Stef. What is wrong?"
Her face fell. She just looked at the floor silently.
"I swear if you do not tell me I am going to go ask Liam," I said angrily.
"No!" she yelled frantically finally meeting my gaze.
I was taken aback. What was up with her? What happened between them last night? Because right now that acted as if they didn't know each other.
"Then what happened?" I asked a little calmer.
She sighed and the spoke slowly, "Okay. Please don't freak out, Cass. Me and L- Your brother. We kind of...kissed...last night." I gasped.
My hand covered my mouth. I knew it! I knew they liked each other!
I squealed excitedly before saying, "Oh my gosh! I knew it! I knew you still liked him!" I smiled triumphantly. "I knew he liked you too." I winked still slightly smirking.
A ghost of a smile flash across her lips, but left as soon as it came. Her eyes landed back on the ground.
"It's not going to work out though," she said sadly.
"And why not?" I asked, "What did he do? Is that why you were crying yesterday? I swear if you need me to I'll beat him up. I don't care if he's my brother. If he starts acting like a dick then I'm going to kick his ass."
She shook her head saying, "No. He didn't do anything other than kiss me. Which, trust me, I enjoyed. Thoroughly. I mean, a lot. Like, a lo-"
I held my hands up and interrupted, "Okay okay! I get it! You kissed you liked it! Get on with it. Please."
She giggled lightly and continued, "Well, after we got home, it got really awkward, and he tried to fix it, but Sophia called him and kind of ruined the moment." She looked really disappointed.
"What happened after that?" I asked.
"I went into your bathroom and started crying... I assumed he left because when I came back out you were in here."
My face faltered. Of course he let Sophia ruin the night for her. He's such an idiot.
"I'm so sorry. I know how you feel. But um... I have some bad news." I frowned.
"She's here isn't she?" I nodded slowly. She fell back on my bed and grunted. "Damn it! I cannot stand it anymore! I can't stand her! She's evil i just know it!" she yelled loudly.
"Ssh! Stefanie! You realize they might be able to hear you right?!" I said putting my hand over her mouth. I slowly took it off.
"So? Let her hear," she said. She took in a deep breath and yelled, "I hate you, Soph-"
"Stefanie Marie! Shut your fucking face! I swear! If you do not stop you're going to be staying on the streets," I interrupted.
She laughed harshly without any humor. Then, her laughter turned into to quiet sobbing. I sighed.
"Come here, Steffy," I said quietly. I sat down on the bed and she curled up in my lap. "It'll be okay. I promise."
"Why does it hurt?" she asked, "Why can't I just let it go? It's not like I lost him to her or anything. You can't lose something that was never yours."
"Stefanie, I don't care if he's my brother. He's being a total dick right now and I am going to beat the crap out if him right now," I said angrily.
She lifted her head up and faced me. She shook her head, but I was up and out of the door before she could stop.
He was about to get a piece of my mind. If she tried to stop him, she was gonna get hell. There's no holding back now
