Chapter 16: Johnny and Eddie

Harley's P.O.V:

So I walked around campus with Kitty and Ivy as we waited for the rest of the squad to show up. I wondered if something happened to the others and I imagined if something did, what would they be like now. I glanced to my left and saw Harvey Dent walk towards us. But wait a minute...

"Oh my god! What happened to you?" Selina hissed quietly but loud enough for us to hear.

Half the side of his face was... burned... now it was... God... I could see the bone! I gasped and gaped at him. I couldn't look away. Ivy seemed the least affected by this. She always thought men were disgusting, no matter what he looked like.

"Fire... " Harvey just replied softly. I guess he expected to be asked alot of what happened to him. "What about you guys?" Ivy and Kitty gave him a short summary of what happened to them. Not all the details like they told me. As they were talking I looked around.

"Uh... guys... " I started. They ignored me. I tried again. "Guys?"

"What is it, Harls?" Ivy said, sighing, since I interrupted her and Harvey flirting.

I looked around again. "Guys. Look. Just look at everyone! They're all different! It's like they all changed during the weekend..." I trailed off, staring wide-eyed at a guy who had yellow skin, green hair, something red on his back, and leaping from tree to tree like a monkey. Wtf...?

They all stood there silently so I know they noticed it too.

Oh jeez... I dreaded what I would see when Eddie and Johnny came... maybe even Jack. Or maybe they would be normal, like me. Or... I should say... like they were before the weekend started.

Finally, someone tapped my shoulder and said, "What asks but never answers?" I turned around and saw Eddie.

"Eddie!" I studied him. "You look the same."

He said nothing. He just sighed and asked again, "what asks but never answers?"

"I.... uh... maybe... er..." I thought. What asks but never answers? I don't know... is it a type of object? Animal? But animals don't talk... I was just gonna give in. "I-" but I was interrupted by someone else.

"An owl. Right? An owl says who?" I turned. It was Johnny.

Eddie just mumbled and I could make out, "it was meant for Harleen... "

"Oh. Johnny! Hi." I smiled. He just nodded and went into a conversation with Eddie. Okay... So maybe they are different as well. But not in looks like Ivy. But in personality like Kitty. I looked around for Jack.
