Chapter 48: Of course

Harley's P.O.V:

"Hailey!" Bella shouted. I looked at her, confused.

"No. It's Harley."

"No! That girl! She's mine and Mistys room mate! She's new here too!" She explained.

My eyes clouded with pain and anger. "And she was talking to my- I mean... Joker. Awfully close to him too!" I exclaimed. How dare she!? He's mine!

"I'm sure she didn't know yours and Jokers past, Harls."

I nodded. She was right. This Hailey character was new. She wouldn't know.

I grabbed Bellas hand and dragged her into the cafeteria, after making sure I didnt have red rims around my eyes if course.

We walked in on Misty having a deep in thought look. She hadn't moved. It's like she didn't even know we left. Bella shook her. Misty jumped and jerked her head to face Bella. Bella explained the situation.

Misty nodded and glanced at me. I took a deep breath and motioned for us to sit in a table close to Joker without it seeming suspicious. We casually strolled to the table in front of him and sat down. Since not a lot of people were here at the time, we could hear their conversation.

"It's just been so long, Jack... but of course... it's Joker now, isn't it? I always knew you would be popular..." You could hear the sweetness in her voice.

I shivered when I heard his voice. Brought back so many memories...

"Why thank you, sweets. I have been looking forward to seeing you again, Blue."

Hailey's tone was joking now. "Have you met anyone who has left an impression?" There was a pause.

"Oh, Joker. You know I mean has there been any girls that have caught your eye here since me?"

I tensed but tried to calm down. I couldn't. I remained tense so I decided to start whispering with Bella and Misty.

"Pretend that we're talking."

They nodded and we began to move our mouths so it looked like we were whispering quietly to each other. We waited for his answer. Everyone, including Hailey, seemed to be holding their breaths.

"No, our course not, Pumpkin."
