Joker's P.O.V:
When I first saw Harley she was stunning. At first I didn't know who she was, since she was in that jester suit.
I was grumpy. Didn't she know what time it was? And she woke me up just to come looking like.... like a clown. And I felt a surge of hatred and anger that went away as soon as it came. I get those feelings sometimes ever since.... that day. And I slapped her. To get it all out. I know it's not good to have all your anger bottled up. So I won't let it bottle it up. Because if I do... I'm gonna hurt Harls. Bad. The reason I take it out on her is because she's mine and shes loyal. She won't fail me like that.Look. I like the kid, I really do but.. well... she's just my toy. And like every other toy... the owner will outgrow it. One day, I'll leave Harley. But not until I help her.
Step 1 is already complete. Make sure she is loyal. And I know she was. Ever since I first slapped her.
Step 2 is also done. Get her to put on her mask. So now I can see who she really is. And that means I'll see if she actually is worth my helping. If not... I guess I'll have to outgrow her alot more quickly. For example... if she is boring on the inside as she is sexy on the outside, I'll keep her around. I laughed. I saw Harley's confused expression. It just me me laugh harder.
Nah. If she's as boring on the inside as she is ugly on the outside, then maybe I'll extent my services to her.
Then a thought stuck me. What was the word I just used?! Services? Oh no, no, no. I don't serve anyone. I glared at her. She shrunk back, and I could tell she was even more confused. Then she laughed.
"What's so funny?!" I growled. She stopped immediately. My right hand twitched. How I just wanted to pin her to the wall and choke her. Not long enough to kill her but... damn why am I so mad at her!? I took a deep breath.
"Okay. Come along, Harley." I said sternly. Then I grinned and said in a playful voice, "we're going to have a night out!" Then I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the school entrance. We went outside and all the way to the gates. It was locked. Oh well. I let her go and started climbing it. I got to the top and looked down. She wasn't following.
She was biting her lip then said, "uh.... Puddin... I don't really wanna..." I frowned and lifted an eyebrow. She then said hastily and warily, "coming right up, Puddin!" And she giggled.
Ugh.
I dropped down onto the other side, she came down 2 seconds after me. Then we heard alarms in the distance. We looked down at out bracelets.
"F*ck." I mumbled. I grabbed her wrist again and we started running. We ran all the way to a jewelry store. I saw a diamond necklace in the window and smiled.
"Harls. Pumpkin pie. Pooh." I said while looking into her eyes. Her eyes twinkled when I called her the those names.
"Yeah, Puddin?!" She answered eagerly.
"I want you to get that necklace for me." I said in a cheerful tone.
"You-you mean... you mean the necklace in this jewelry shop? The one that has 2 and a half inch glass around it and locked with a key? The one that says $1,988? That one?" She asked.
I rolled my eyes, my playful mood gone. "Yes. That one." I sneered.
"N-no p-problem, P-Puddin..." She said meekly.
Harley's P.O.V:
I gulped mentally. He's crazy. Now way would I ever able to get that without triggering an alarm! But I still I'd do it anyways. Although I wondered why he wanted it. I just don't picture him going around wearing a diamond necklace...
He gave me something. I didn't know what it was but I thought it was something to unlock the door. So I used it and ta-da! It swung open! I stepped inside. Don't worry. He wouldn't let you get caught. He loves you. At least I think he does. And besides... I'm wearing a mask. The cameras won't know who I was.
I went up to the case. When I got up to it I totally forgot that there have might have been lasers. But thank goodness, I was lucky.
I used the tool again. This jewelry shop must have really lousy security because it too, swung open. I grabbed it and walked out, grinning confidently.
I walked up to him and held it out. "Here ya go, Puddin!"
He gave me a look. "When we're doing crimes, you call me Joker. Not Puddin." But he gave me a pat on the head. "Good girl, Harls. But let's face it, a monkey could have done that." I didn't say anything but smiled dryly and a little sadly.
"Oh cheer up, toots. When you prove that your a good criminal I'll give you something good to do." And he walked away. I walked behind him.
Then it just hit me.
I had stolen a diamond necklace from a jewelry store. I had committed a crime. I broke the law.
Am I a criminal now?!
