Chapter 44: Always be there

He he.... Johnny Depp....*drools a little then snaps out of it* heh heh... Uh... You didn't... I didn't.... Im just gonna.... Alrighty then...

Harley's P.O.V:

"Misty? How come i've never heard of ya?"

Kitty answered that for her. "She's an old friend. We....we trained together when we were younger. We grew distant but now that she's joined Gotham High we can bond again!" Misty nodded, all signs of hostility gone, while I was still wary.

"Yeah. Nice to meet you, Harley." She held her hand out to take. I eyed it. Then I took it and we shook.

"Likewise."

She beamed. Then noticed the red rims around my eyed and frowned. "Were you crying...?" She acted like the thought really bothered her.

"Uh....yeah..." I replied, uncomfortable with the subject.

"Why....?"

"Umm.... it's nothing really.... just my boy-" I cut off for a second when I realized something. "Ex. Ex-boyfriend." I looked down.

"Oh. What- what happened?"

After a second of hesitating, I jumped into my explanation, telling her everything from the beginning, when we first met, to now.

By the time I was finished she was scowling. "Excuse me?"

I was confused. "What?"

"He hit you?!"

I was surprised that she asked this. "W-well... yeah... "

"That's called abuse, Harls! You can't stand for that! I'm kind of glad that you guys broke up!"

I blinked back tears. "Well.... I... I-"

"Gosh! I can't believe you guys even lasted that long!"

"I..." I trailed off as I realized I had nothing to say.

She understood and embraced me. "Look. From your 'story', you guys will get back together." Then she murmured under her breath, "not that I'll be happy that you guys will...." Then she added in her normal voice, "I'll be there for you. Through it all. Dont worry, Harls, cause I'll always be there for you." I smiled weakly and said in a quiet, raspy voice, "thanks, Misty."
