Harley's P.O.V:
It was the middle of the night when I woke up. I looked around groggily. I had let Ivy and Kitty out at 11. They were really mad. Really. But I didn't care. They got part of what they deserved. They were sleeping deeply. Was Ivy snoring?
I tiptoed out of bed and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door quietly.
I looked into the mirror and sniffed. The mark my Puddin made when he slapped me had disappeared. I sighed happily. I know, I know. Your thinking 'why are you so happy? Didn't he slap you?' well yes he did. I'm not happy that he did. That would be crazy. I'm happy because that slap led to me doing this.
I put on mascara, blood red lipstick, and black eye liner. I took out the jester suit I had gotten when I was shopping last night. What? That's why I let Ivy and Kitty out so late. I was gonna let let them out at 8, since school ends at 4 and our argument took almost an hour and the incident with Puddin took like half an hour since he left like 3 minutes after all that stuff happened. I was gonna leave them in there for 2 hours since I didn't have it in me to make them stay in there for the whole night. But I went shopping instead. I put on the skin tight jester suit. It was like it was made exactly for me. It hugged every curve of my body. I gotta say. I looked pretty dang good in it. I put on the jester hat that came with it. I loved the little cotton ball thingies at the ends. Oh Puddin will just love it when he sees me wearing it! I got it since a jester is kind of associated with a joker. Or that's what I think when I play cards. I put on white make-up and made it cover every inch of skin that showed. I looked in the mirror. It's missing something. Oh I know!
I quickly and quietly ran out of the bathroom and into our closet to get a black mask that I was gonna use for the masquerade ball at the end of the year but why not now? I ran back to the bathroom and put it on carefully. I blinked. And when I opened my eyes I saw a whole new person looking back at me. She was beautiful. Pure white skin, like snow, full, wine red lips, bright blue eyes that popped out since of the mask and her dark, long lashes that framed them. I felt a chill. Then I tore my eyes away from the mirror and went back into the main room. I put on my black and red shortish boots that were on the opposite color sides of the jester outfit so I thought it looked really cool. I took a deep breath and slid out of the dorm, locking it behind me and running down the hall to my Puddin's dorm. As soon as I saw dorm 666 I knocked.
I bit my lip. Please let Puddin answer and not Harvey. I heard someone groan in annoyance. I went on my tiptoes.
The door knob rattled. I waited impatiently. Finally, Joker stepped out. His green hair was messy and I could tell he barely woke up. He wasn't wearing a shirt, only green shorts. I smiled, trying to do the best winning smile I could do. He blinked. I continued smiling. He looked more closely at me. He blinked again. I was still smiling. He just kept staring and blinking. My smile faltered slightly. Finally he looked at me up and down twice. I waited. My smile was only a side smile now. He looked into my eyes. I smiled fully again, showing my teeth. He blinked. Again.
Then he asked, "who are you?"
I laughed. He looked startled.
"Oh Puddin! Don't be silly! It's me! Your Harley!" I said in one breath.
He blinked again then he grinned and started chuckling. "Oh. I knew I saw those eyes somewhere!" He chuckled. I started giggling. Then suddenly he stopped. I stopped too and smiled at him. Then I was on the floor. My cheek stung. I blinked wildly, urging myself to shed no tears. He grabbed a side of my jester hat and pulled me up and into his arms.
"That was for waking me up in the middle of the night, and came looking like a jester." Then he pecked me on the lips quickly. I squeaked in happiness, the slap forgotten.
"And that was for waking me up in the middle of the night, and came looking like a jester." He grinned. Wait. But wasn't that the reason he slapped me?
He wrapped his arm around my waist and led me inside. It was just like our dorm, but on one side of the dorm had 'Joker' painted in green and purple. And 'Ha, Ha, Ha!' under it. There was also a smile above it, with cherry red lips and a white teeth. It wasn't realistic so it didn't look very creepy thank goodness.
My Puddin kicked Harvey in the ribs. "Get up, Two-face, I need to show ya something."
Two-face grunted and sleepily got up, his eyes still closed. He was wearing a tank top and blue shorts.
"What?" He asked, his tone still thick with sleep.
"Look at what my Harley did for me! It's like she got all dolled up in her own special way." Joker said. I felt my cheeks warm up and shyly smiled.
Finally he opened his eyes. He looked around. When his eyes landed on me he blinked like Puddin had done when he first saw me.
First he was gawking. Then he asked, "H-Harleen?"
"No!" Joker snapped quickly, his eyes clouding with anger. "Call her by her real name. And her real name is not Harleen. It's Harley." He said by nickname darkly, like he would do something bad to Two-face if he didn't call me my new name. I felt goosebumps and Two-face looked slightly uneasy.
"Okay. But. Harley... what are you doing here? Wearing that? Where are Ivy and Catwoman? I thought they didn't like you being with this as- I mean Joker." He said my Puddins name with anger. What happened between the two? I had noticed Puddins bleeding when I bumped into him earlier but I didn't want to ask at the time in case it would upset him. Did Two-face have anything to do with it? The blood was gone though. But Two-face's left eye was slightly darker than the right. A black eye possibly?
"Harley?! What's wrong with you? Stop day dreaming!" Joker's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"Wha?" I blinked. Then Puddin slapped me again. It didn't result to me on the floor or leaning against the wall or hanging onto the doorframe for support. It wasn't that hard. It was just hard enough to leave me dazed. It didn't hurt a lot. But I bet it would if I touched it. As if on purpose, Puddin cupped my cheek, making me wince.
"Sorry, Pumpkin. Had to make.sure you were awake." He said.
"N-no problem, Puddin. It- it was my fault. Sorry." I replied.
He smiled. "I guess it was your fault, huh?" It wasn't a question.
We looked back to Two-face. He was starting at us, shocked.
"What?!" Joker growled.
"Nothing."
Puddin shrugged. "Anyway, Harley. I really like your new look. It's more Harley than Harleen. And that's good. Your starting to show your true colors. And I've got to say... I like the colors your showing." I blushed at that. He kissed me lightly.
His eyes then lit up and he smiled. "Okay then."
What?
