Harleen Quinzel starts high school as a junior. It's not easy, being the new girl in school, and she's taken by surprise when she meets a handsome green eyed boy. He's perfect in every way, or so she thinks. But is he really? Is he the...
Ivy and Catwoman were horrified when I went back to their dorm. Joker locked it to make sure no one came in. But that didn't mean I couldn't get out. They had treated my wounds as best as they could. Ivy even gave me something that made me wanna spit it out as soon as the taste touched my tongue.
I was in bed now, out of my costume, which was I the depths of the closest. I sighed.
What Joker said hurt me bad. More than what he did. He never loved me. Never. And he said he never would.
I slipped off into a light sleep. I kept waking up, tears staining my cheeks, and when I got up to get a drink of water and looked in the mirror, my eyes were all pink and puffy and my eyes red.
Finally I went into a dreamless sleep.

*Morning*
I woke up. Ivy and Catwoman were already getting ready. I saw that Ivy had picked out my clothes already. Ugh. Worse than my mom was.
I got up and got dressed quickly. She had given me jeans today, with a red v-neck and gotten out my hoop earrings. I put everything on. I guess she felt, like I did, that I wouldn't want to wear my usually black and red. I only put on concealer today, to cover up the bruises on my neck and face. I left my hair down, like I did last time I was down in the dumps.
We walked to our first class silently. English. Then math. Then chemistry, then drama. Then it was lunch. Then art, social studies, gym, then Spanish.
As I sat down in the back for English with Ivy and Selina. Joker sat in the second row. In every class there were 4 rows. And 4 desks in each row. I know, I know, not much students. But they separate the bad and the good people so.... Joker was in the chair closet to the door, and I sat in the the farthest away from him, by the window. I just looked out of it, not paying attention to anyone.
"Harleen!" The teacher finally broke through to me. "Are you paying any attention?!"
"Yeah. Yeah, I'm paying attention." I said and sat up straighter. Everyone was looking at me, even him. He was looking at me with a bored look though so I felt like someone just stabbed me in the heart real quick. I tore my eyes away from him and to the teacher.
"Oh yes? Then what did I say before?" The teacher asked.
"You asked if I was paying attention." I said. Everyone was staring at me with disbelief, except for Joker, who wasn't looking at me at all.
"No. Before that!" She put her hands on her hips.
"You said my name." I answered back smoothly. I wasn't gonna give in to a crappy old teacher. Pud-Joker..... taught me that. I blinked twice and told myself not to cry, and I didn't.
The teacher just glared. Then muttered something under her breath, turned back to the board, and continued teaching. I went back to looking out the window, feeling everyone's eyes on me. But there was only one pair of eyes I was interested in and I sensed that he wasn't looking my way. So I just kept staring at the trees and the birds outside.
Next was math. As I sat in the same spot as I sat in English, and Joker sat in his seat, with Catwoman and Ivy by me, the teacher started her lesson. Again, I was drifting off, staring out the window. And again, the freaking teacher interupted me.
"Harleen, what are you doing?"
I glared at her. "Looking out a window, what does it look like?" I snapped at her. She quickly went back to the lesson at hand. Still, everyone looked at me but Joker. I frowned and continued looked out the plane of glass.
In chemistry it was no difference. I was doing the same thing when another stupid teach asked me the annoying question,
"Harleen. Why are you just staring off into space when everyone one else is learning?" He asked sternly. I rolled my eyes.
"Look around you. Does it look like anyone is learning anything in here?" I gestured to all the kids drawling on their desks or passing notes to each other. He huffed and continued his lesson.
In drama, when it was my line in the play we were doing, Hamlet, I just said,
"When is this class over I wanna go eat lunch." It took a minute for them to realise I wasn't saying, "Doubt thou the stars are fire, Doubt thou the sun doth move, doubt truth to be a liar. But I never doubt I love."
Finally, when the bell rang for lunch I got a ham burger and fries (course they're not actually good, it's school food!) and a water.
Halfway through it I sensed it. His eyes. Joker eyes. Puddin's eyes. But when I looked up, he was talking to Two-face.

*Time skip to Spanish class*
I was still doing the looking out the window thing in Spanish class. And like the past 7 times, the teacher freaking asked me,
"Harley, what are doing staring out the window?" He asked. Jesus, okay. They asked for it.
I jumped up and slammed my fist down on the table. I stalked right up to him. He was very startled and just stared at me.
"You know you teachers are really pissing me off with your questions! You guys keep asking me if I'm paying attention, why am I doing this, Harleen why are you doing that?! What am I freakin doing! Well guess what?! I'm looking out a window and I don't want anyone to talk to me so just shut up and leave me alone! Is that so damn hard?!" I was breathing heavily. Everyone was staring at me this time, including Joker, but I didn't stay in the classroom. I rushed out, but before I left I caught a glimpse of my Puddin. He was smirking.
I left with a big smile, knowing I had finally gotten a reaction.
