I've seen movies and some books that have a romance between an average girl and a rich popular boy. The boy being literally one of the most attractive people on the face of Earth. Anyway, whenever they first met they'd have an awkward dinner at a long table that would be perfect for the Knights of the Round Table. Those tables that span almost the whole room and it's awkward because the two have to yell to have an kind of conversation. Well that how my morning went. Except the boy was far from rich and definitely wasn't "The Sexiest Man". Sage had woken me up at the crack of dawn. The sky was still dark but there was a small hit of light. My head felt like I was hit with a hammer. My eyes were red and dry. I had to use some eye drops I had found in the bathroom. He told me to dress nice and I saw a expensive looking dress laid perfect at the end of the bed. I quickly changed and the walked out of my room. It honestly felt good to wear something new. When I had waked into the living room I was once again surprised by my surroundings. The couch, tables, and chair had all been replaced with a long dark brown table and matching wooden chairs. All that was left of the living room was the television. I was hoping the news would still be on. I wanted to know how far the cops were from finding us and if maybe my mother had another message. Unfortunately the film "It's a Wonderful Life" was on instead. When I first walked into the room, Sage looked up at me with a slightly shocked face. He stood up from the dining room chair, which scratch the floor and left marks. Sage was dressed nicely as well. He had on an all black tux complete with a black tie. When he stood up he stared at me. "Hey..." I mumbled as the staring when on for to long. "Oh... Ya." He snapped out of his slight trance. He stepped over to me and grabbed my hand. "You'll sit right across from me!" He smiled and then pulled me over to the only other seat. Being the gentleman I guess he was trying to be, he pulled my seat out and Waited for me to be seated. I didn't want to of course but I had no choice. I sighed and finally took a seat. He pushed the chair back into the table. He pushed the chair so close to the table that I almost couldn't breath. He noticed, cringed, and then fixed it. Once Sage saw I was comfortable he rushed back over to his seat. Once he sat down he snapped his fingers twice. Jack, wearing what I would image a butlers uniform, appeared and then pushed Sage up to the table. "Food." Sage said. Jack rushed into the kitchen and seconds later brought out so much food that I believe there was enough to solve world hunger. Carefully he laid out the food, then the silverware, and finally our drinks. "Silverware before the drinks? Who taught you?" Sage shook his head disappointedly. Jack stayed silent. "T-Thank you, Jack." I quickly said. "There will be no referring to the butler with a name!" Saw slammed his fist on the edge of the table. "Leave." He added. For a second I thought he was speaking to me, but then Jack left instead. Sage picked up his fork and started to eat his breakfast. I didn't of course. I sat and tried to ignore the delicious smell. "Are you not going to eat?" Sage didn't look up from his food. I shook my head slightly. "I prepared all this food, I moved all the furniture, I even bought these clothes just for you. All I ask is that you eat (Name)" he suddenly stabbed his fork into the table. I shook my head again. He stood up again and walked over beside me. Every step he took grew louder as it turned more into a stomp then a step. He grabbed my chin and forced me to open my mouth. He took my fork and cut off a piece of pancake. Then he started to feed me like I was child. "I don't think you appreciate what i'm doing for you (Name). I don't like that. I've been nice to you. I've brought you to your old home. I get nice clothes and furniture. I make you food. But you still disrespect me. I'm going to be nice still but if I don't get respect from you, things are going to change. And your not going to like it. So just eat, please." He said as he continued to feed me. I decided to just eat. The memories of the gas station made me. I took back the fork and started to eat again. Sage smiled happily like nothing strange had even happened between us. He sat back down and continued to finish his food. "So last night... Something happened." He spoke quietly. I remembered how he acted drunk, he tried to kiss me and got to close. I didn't really want to think about it. "I-I wanted to apologize for my horrible behavior last night and I do hope you can forgive me. You see, I was watching the news and they said that apparently my parents do not care I'm missing. I... I just felt so sad after hearing it. I'm sorry I miss treated you." His eyes seemed watery. Sage was about to cry. I started to think maybe he's not so bad. Maybe he's just been treated badly by his parents. "I accepted you apology." I replied. Sage seemed happy by that response. He laughed as he wiped away tears from his eyes. "You know you look good in that dress," he said to change the topic. After that we just talked. We talked like we were normal people not caught up in a hostage situation. It was like we were really friends. Or maybe even more.

After the "breakfast date", Sage and me went our separate ways again. He sat down to finish "It's a Wonderful Life". I decide to take a long needed shower and to change into clean clothes. After I did so, I knew what I had to do. Find an escape for me as well as Jack. I know Sage was acting "nicer" recently but I wasn't sure how much longer that would last. Also he was still abusing Jack. I felt like Jack was my first priority; to get him out before me. I had yet to explore the whole house. There were two other rooms in my hall beside my room and the bathroom, and there was a whole different area past the living room I hadn't gone to. I had a game plan. Sage would probably not like me exploring around the house, so I had to be sneaky. Which would be easy since he was completely inthralled with the movie for reasons unknown. I started with the other doors in my hall first. The first one was beside the bathroom. The door was a dark wooden brown like all the others were. The brass door knob wasn't even out of the ordinary. But I still slowly turned the handle and carefully pushed the door open. It wasn't locked. Inside I went. The carpet was normal. The walls were a deep grass green color and there were no windows. In the center was a bed the same size as mine. Which meant Sage could have just slept here instead of with me in my bed. But this room was useless to me. There was no way of escape. So I left and closed the door behind me. There was another ordinary door next to my room. I was quick with trying to open it this time. Unfortunately, it was locked. I cursed under my breath and chose to move on to the next unexplored territory. When I stepped into the living room I had to make sure Sage was distracted. And he definitely was. He was literally on the end of his seat, entranced by the black and white film. This was the perfect time to snoop around the house. I quickly tip toed past him and into the next hall. Three doors. That was all. The first door I knew was the front door right off the bat. It had a peep hole to see outside and multiple locks keeping any from getting in or out. Unless they had a key of course. Now I had an idea. All I needed to do was find the keys or some how get myself outside. Then I was free, but it wouldn't be easy. There was no place to hide a key anywhere in this house. There were no drawers to hide them, not even in the bathroom. Hopefully the kitchen would though. That was the next door; the kitchen door. I quickly walked inside and closed the door. The kitchen was a disaster! There was mold and flour covering the gross floor. Pot, pans, silverware, and plates piled in the small sink. The smell was even worse. It smelled strongly of rotten and spoiled foods. But the most surprising thing was... There were no cabinets or drawers. Not even a single window for escape either. Yet another useless and disgusting room. Then finally came the last and most terrifying room. A message had been carved in what I guessed a kitchen knife. "Stay Out!!!" It said. I felt scarred to open it honestly. But I knew I had to. If Sage didn't want me in there that probably meant there was a way to freedom in there. I once again slowly turned the knob and pushed the door open and.... It was slammed back shut. Sage leaned against the now closed door and grinned. "What exactly are you doing?" He asked, smirking like it was the funniest thing to happen to him in ages. "I'm... Having a little adventure. Since you won't let me go outside and have some fun, I'm forced to just sit around the house." I made up quickly. "So you want to go outside to have fun? You can have inside the house too, you know? Without having to rummage through my things." He was already acting different again. He pulled out from his pants pocket a big ring out keys. My eyes widening when I saw them. Sage must have noticed because he just shook his head and then grinned again. He went through all the keys until he found the one with a paper label on it. It was a large golden key labeled 'Jack's Room'. He locked the door and hid his keys away in his pocket. "If you really want to have fun, then just tell me." He shrugged and walked away. I don't know why but that had just struck a nerve in me. Just the way the walked and talked. It made so mad all of the sudden. I repeated his last words in a mocking tone while moving my hand like it was a Sage puppet. At least I had learned two new valuable facts. I could get outside if I have my keys, and I knew where the keys were. Getting them was going to be the tricky part.
