Thursday. Thursday was the last day I saw Walker. We had just met and we were already so close. And then he disappeared. I had been asking Thomas every time I saw him about where Walker was. But he always said he was sick. What a fucking coincidence he got deadly sick after I found his phone and those creepy messages. Thomas was clearly up to something. I didn't know what but I was determined to find out. Mainly so I could go to the dance with Walker. I already knew he was a good dancer so why not? During the days that Walker was missing in action, I had been spending a lot of time with Ava. She was basically my best friend. I ate lunch with her and her preppy friends (who were surprisingly nice), we help each other with homework, and she bought me a friendship bracelet. I'd originally been spending so much time with her to spite Thomas. Every time I was at lunch I would give him a glare. He would normally be watching me while eating his salad very angrily. But then I did start hanging out with Ava because I generally liked her. Thomas was clearly jealous though. Whenever one of Ava's popular guy friends touched me in any way I could hear Thomas's eating getting angrier. Like I could hear his fork scraping the plate and his loud crunching. He even started sitting closer to our table and whenever he saw me in the hall he would try and have a conversation with him. But I always just asked him about Walker and then said I was late for class.
On Tuesday, I had told Ava about my suspicion and I went over to her house to try and figure out where they lived (so that we could surprise Walker and Thomas at their own house. Not because I'm the creep!). I assumed Thomas's last name was Manson like Walker but when we looked him up online we found nothing. No records of Thomas or any social media. It's like he didn't exist! We looked up Walker and only found his Facebook and stuff. We didn't find where they lived. Ava and I did try to text Walker all night but he never replied. But on Wednesday something interesting happened. I had had a lot of homework the night before. I woke up drooling on my math homework still holding my pencil. I sat up and wiped my mouth. I turned on my phone and realized that I had woken up late. So late that my bus was already gone. I started to panic and got ready in like record time. All while texting Ava.

(Name): I need you to pick me up. I woke up late.
Ava: Oh no! 😰 I'm so so so so soooo sorry but I'm already at school and I can't!! 😲 Sorry boo hope you make it somehow 🙏✊👍

If there is one thing I hate about Ava it is her obsession with using emojis. I already knew there was no way Mom could do it and I was too nervous to try and text any of Ava's friends. There was only one person left. Thomas. I still considered him my friend. Just one I had a fight with at the moment. So I texted him.

(Name): I need you to pick me up. You're my last hope!
Thomas: oh my god of course ill pick you up well be there in like five minutes

I was confused by 'we'll be there' but I didn't have time to squander on it. I made my self some toast for breakfast and stuffed it into my mouths. I didn't even have time to chew. I fixed myself some o.j. and used it to make eating an entire toast with only a few bites easier. I swallowed my breakfast and then ran to brush my teeth. It was painful because of the orange juice I just had but I had to suffer through it! I cringed as I spit out the toothpaste and thoroughly rinsed out my mouth. Right after that, I heard a car honk outside of my house. I stuffed my homework into my bag and ran out the door. A sleek black car that I knew was Thomas's was parked outside. I pulled the passenger's door but it wouldn't open. "What's the deal dude! This isn't a time for jokes! We only have-" I glanced at my phone time. "Eight minutes to get to school," I tried again to open the door. Suddenly, the back seat door opened. I shrugged and got in. Thomas waved at me. Not a normal wave of course. The wave consisted of his finger moving up and down like a spider crawling on the wall or something. I smiled and then looked in the front the seat. And there was Walker. The missing man. "Oh my god! Where have you been!?" I laughed and patted his shoulder. Walker didn't respond. "He's still sick. He's trying not to talk so that his germs don't spread ya know. Walker's kind of a germaphobe," Thomas explained. Walker then pulled a hospital mask down over his face. I nodded and the relaxed into my seat. The drive to school wasn't interesting. I just had some small talk with Thomas. When we arrived at school, I thanked them and then rushed off to class.

The next day was the day before the dance. Ava had already been asked out by both Sean and Mark. She actually rejected them both. She said that the dance was going to be a girl party and she was going to spend all night with her best friend. I think she only did that because I hadn't been asked out but I still had my hopes up for Walker. Maybe even Thomas if I felt desperate. Ava had to do her party planning committee thing that night because they were the ones responsible for decorating the party room. She invited me to come and help. I had nothing better to do so I accepted. The group consisted of five girly girls (including Ava), one normal person (that was me), and Frank this super gay dude. It was really fun. It only took us like forty minutes for us to decorate and for another hour we decided to just play stupid games. Like spin the bottle; which didn't even work because all the girls were straight and were too nervous to kiss the others. So they all ended up giving Frank a kiss because he was gay and he was up for it. He just wanted to see what the big deal was about kissing a girl. We also play kid games like hide n seek. We also did karaoke on Karen's app she had. But Karen had shit music taste. Stupid Karen. At the end of the night, I got two texts on my phone. They arrived at the exact same time. It happened in the middle of Karen singing 'Despacito' but she didn't even know the Spanish lyrics because she was a basic white bitch. Everyone was so bored by her singing that they all perked up when they heard my phone go off twice. Everyone turned to look at me. "What was that!?" Frank said really dramatically and gay. "Oh, I got a text from... Walker and Thomas," I frowned. Walker had never responded to my text until now and I didn't know Thomas had my number. But then I realized he could have just gotten it from Walker since they were probably brothers. They all crowded around me. Except for Karen who was still trying to figure out what that Justin Bieber was saying. I read Thomas text first. Out loud so everyone could hear.

Thomas: Hey this is Thomas I have to tell you something rrrrreally important but if you want to know what is you have to come to the mall parking lot at 8:45 exactly pleeeease come

Everyone giggled when I finished reading it. "He is sooooo going to ask you out!" One girl squealed. Everyone else nodded. "Oh thank god... Now I can go to the dance with Sean. Or maybe Mark?" I heard Ava mumble. Someone else punched her in the shoulder. "I'm going with Mark!" That girl rolled her eyes. Ava went 'ooooh' and then turned her attention back to me. "But I don't like him," I sighed. "He's cute though!" Frank put his hand on his heart. Then he showed me this picture he had on his phone of Thomas washing his hands in the boy's bathroom. "Don't tell my boyfriend," he whispered to me. I shrugged and then moved on to Walker's message.

Walker: (Name) meet me at the park behind the library at 8:45 sharp so that I can ask you something.

Everyone laughed again. Even I did. I blushed too. Everyone noticed and went 'ooooh'. I was happy until I realized the boys wanted me to met them at the exact same times and I couldn't be in two places at once. After a lot of consulting with the party planning committee, we had decided that Ava would drive me to meet Walker and just apologize to Thomas later for not meeting up with him.

Ava and I left immediately. She parked by the library and I walked to the park. It was totally dark out but it was also a full moon night. The moon illuminated the entire park. The grass was gently blowing in the wind and a small fountain in the middle of the park splashed loudly. It was very aesthetic. I spotted Walker sitting on a bench. His leg was tapping the concrete path nervously. I smiled and rushed over to where he was. When he looked up he didn't look extremely happy to see me. He stood up and gave me a quick hug. "Hi," I found myself playing with my hair and toying with my outfit. Walker gave me a small smile and then frowned again. I placed my hand on his shoulder. "What's wrong?" I asked. I bit my bottom lip and tried not to give away my huge smile. All I could think about was slow dancing with him at the party and it made me really happy. Walker had somehow left a huge impression on me in only a few days. He nodded and then looked me in the eyes. "I've had this stupid crush on you ever since I met you. It sounds dumb I know. Love, at first sight, doesn't exist but somehow I still... I..." Walker took a deep breath. "Would you go to the dance with me?" He finally spits out. I laughed uncontrollably. Which I realized freaked him out and probably gave him a panic attack. I stopped laughing and then just went for it. I kissed Walker! I kissed him! On the cheek... "Yes of course!" I hugged him too. He started to laugh awkwardly as well and then hugged me back. This was one of the best moments of my life.

I didn't call this chapter a rewrite because I changed a lot of what happened to form the original so I didn't consider it a 'rewrite'. I'm probably going to do that with a lot of the next chapters or just change the chapter name from the original. Just a random fun fact!

Anyway like and subscribe! I mean vote and comment...
