"behind my smile, there's a story you would never understand."

Evangeline

Callie went into the bath while the moms talked to her sister. "Do you guys have any clothes?" Lena asked in the living room. "No. Why would we have clothes?" The teenage girl said, rolling her eyes. Evangeline was never the one to like when people assume that just because their lives are so perfect that everyone else's life is like that too. Lena seemed nice, but just nice still wasn't enough for her.

"Okay... Evan, I know you're going through a lot. But we're on your side." Lena sighed. "You should know that as long as you are under this roof, you go to school and you have to ask if-" The girl cut her off. "Yeah. Yeah. This isn't our first foster home." Evan rolled her eyes.

"You and Callie were kinda mad when you spoke to David. Who is Jude?" Lena sounded concerned. "So, do you have any clothes for me?" Evangeline brushed the topic aside. The sisters planned on saving Jude and if either one slipped up and told anyone, they couldn't do that anymore. Lena sighed and got the girls some clothes that looked like the style Mariana wore. "There's some in there for Callie too. Goodnight." She got up and walked up the stairs. Evangeline sat back against the couch and sighed, thinking about how much she missed her baby brother.

"Callie! Evan!" The duo heard Jude yelling from the living room."You shut up!" Pearson, their foster father, shouted.

"Callie." Evan whispered."I know. It's still day. He can't get away for long." Callie went into their shared, tiny closet and grabbed her metal baseball bat. She kept it in there for major emergencies. Luckily, she didn't need to use it yet.

Callie and Evan walked out of their tiny room, that they shared with Jude, and into the living room, where Pearson was beating Jude, his face swelled and arms and legs bruised. "Hey! Get your hands off of him!" The older, and probably braver, sister distracted him while Callie snuck out to his Trans Am and bashed it up horribly.

Pearson grabbed the landline phone. "Hello. My name is Pearson Gabriel. I am fostering three kids. Two girls and one boy. The girls, Callie Quinn Jacob and Evangeline Hope Jacob. They're going crazy and smashing my Trans Am." He finished the call and hung up.

"Evan. We need to get Jude." Callie snapped her exhausted sister out of her day dream. "I know. Tomorrow night for sure." Callie sat next to her and put the blanket over them. Evan put her head on Callie's shoulder and let a tear escape her eye. She wiped it away as soon as she heard someone in the kitchen. "Evan." Callie whispered. "Did you hear that?" "Let me check it out." The blonde got up and walked to the kitchen.

Mariana was grabbing what looked like prescription pills. The kind Evangeline used to take for her ADHD. Does she have it too? Why would she take them without her moms knowing? Evan hid behind the wall until she left. When she was gone, the mischievous girl went to the basket she got them from and looked at the pill bottle.

Evangeline came to a conclusion. It was the same stuff she took. She hadn't taken them since before Pearson's. None of their foster homes were told about any medical stuff, so she got into art and photography. The thing that helped her the most was playing tennis. Her, Callie, and Jude used to play together at one of their, once good, foster homes.

"Jude! Get the ball!" Callie yelled at her little teammate, Jude, when Evan threw the ball. Jude ran to hit the ball, but it hit the bright green grass instead, causing him to fall straight on his face."Oh my gosh! Jude, are you okay?" Callie tried not to laugh and ran to Jude, who was laying in the grass. Meanwhile, Evan was laughing up a storm.

They missed being together and happy. Jude blamed Callie for getting them kicked out, but Evan didn't. She wasn't gonna let her or Jude stay there after hearing about what Liam did.

Evan put the pill container back in the basket and put the basket back on the shelf. "Everything okay?" Callie asked as her sister sat down next to her. "Yeah. Jesus might have ADHD." Evangeline sighed and sat back on the couch.

"Just another reason you relate to him." Callie smirked. "Don't think I didn't see him looking at you the whole time over dinner." "Shut up! I don't like him! And he doesn't like me!" Evan hit Callie with the pillow. "You guys do too!" She laughed. "That's not very appropriate and we should probably get some sleep. Long day tomorrow." Evangeline moved to a more comfortable position on the couch and Callie did the same. "Night. Have good dreams about Jesus." Callie joked. "Goodnight." Evangeline gave up and tried to fall asleep.
