(A/N: Just to let you guys know, the version of Jesus played by Jake T. Austin is not in this book, so Noah Centineo plays Jesus throughout this whole book. However, if you want to picture it as Jake T. Austin, that's totally cool.)
Evangeline
"Jude!" Evan called to Jude, who was looking at the dresses in H&M. "C'mon, bud." She put her arm around his shoulder.
"Evan!" Callie called for her sister. "You like these?" She and Mariana held up four outfits. "Oh my goodness, yes!" Evangeline looked at the outfits and ended up buying those and a lot more. Thanks to Mariana, Stef, and Lena, the Jacobs siblings were going to go to school in their own clothes. In the car, Evan's phone started ringing. "Callie. Could you check that?"
"Yeah." She looked at Evangeline's phone from the passengers seat. "It's Jesus." Evangeline took her phone out of Callie's hand and put the phone between her shoulder and ear. "Hey, Jesus. What's up?"
"Hey. I'm not on speaker, right?" He asked, confusing the blonde. "No. Why?" She turned onto the street to get to the Adams-Foster home. "Mariana is meeting our birth mom in secret. I think she's giving her money." Jesus spoke quickly. "Jesus. Calm down. We're almost home. We can talk then." She got ready to hang up. "Okay. Hey." He stopped. "Thank you for being so understanding."
"Of course."
"So?" Mariana asked, eagerly. "He just asked when we'll be home."
"Oh okay." Mariana sighed. When they arrived at the house, Mariana, Callie, Jude, Brandon, Stef, and Lena all sat, messing around in the living room, while Jesus and Evan talked in his room.
"It's a lot to explain, but I just found out today that she's been selling my pills for money to pay our birth mom. She's selling to kids at school." Jesus told her. "If I were you, I'd hide my pills somewhere." She nodded, looking into his brown eyes.
"Okay. Thanks for letting me know." Obviously, Evangeline was shocked, but was trying really hard not to show it. "Did you take your pill?" She asked, noticing his leg bounce up and down.
"Yeah." Evan looked at him with stern eyes. "No." He spoke quietly, looking down at his hands as if he was ashamed. "Jesus. You need to!" She scolded. "I know! I know!" He admitted. "I just don't want Mariana in trouble."
"I know you mean well, Jesus, but please take care of this responsibly. Take care of yourself." She put her hand on his bouncing knee and smiled at him slightly. "I will. I promise you."
"Okay."
They both walked down the stairs, seeing everyone already sitting down with a spot for both Evangeline and Jesus between Mariana and Jude. "Okay. Take a seat." Stef told Jesus and Evan. Jesus sat next to Mariana and Evan, whom sat next to Jesus and Jude.
"We talked to Bill and we decided." Lena paused. "We aren't in the position to offer Jude, Evangeline, and Callie a forever home."
"On the other hand, you guys can absolutely stay here until you find your forever home." Stef added. Callie put her hand on Jude's leg and Evangeline put hers on top of her sister's. God, how she hoped they wouldn't lose each other ever again.
"So that being said, we have beds coming in tomorrow, so no more blanket beds!" Stef exclaimed, making them all chuckle. While the kids were making room for their new beds in the rooms, Evangeline and Callie heard Stef call for Mariana. "Mariana! Lexi's here!"
Evangeline immediately started thinking of how much Lexi already didn't like her and how much her and Jesus hate each other. She went into his room and ended up bumping into someone on the way in.
Lexi.
"Evangeline." She scoffed. "Lexi." Evangeline laughed venomously and crossed her arms as Lexi left. "What was that?" She walked up to Jesus with her arms still crossed. "She came to apologise to you for being so mean." He said, confused. "She said she already told you."
"Uh... No." Evan chuckled. "Wow. I really thought she was sorry." He scoffed. "Well, I guess not." She said. "She tried to kiss me." He blurted out.
"What?" At that moment, Evangeline don't know how to feel. She felt a pang of some kind of hurt. She didn't want it to be jealousy, but there was a burning part inside that thought it was. Was she jealous of Lexi?
"I pushed her away." He looked down. "I think she's still here with Mariana in your room, so if you go in there, let me know beforehand." They both walked out into the hallway, where Lexi, Mariana, and Brandon were. "I don't understand why they can't just stay in the living room." Mariana threw her hands up.
"Oh yeah!" Brandon said, sarcastically. "Or maybe under the stairs, like Harry Potter."
"That's easy for you to say. You aren't giving up anything." Jesus butted in. Evangeline rubbed his back, knowing that this was not him, this was just not having meds getting to him. This caused a glare from Lexi, but she didn't care. She had blown up at people when she didn't have my meds and wished to have someone trying to calm her down.
Everyone, except Lexi and Evan, all went into their rooms without another word. The two rival girls stood in the hallway alone, giving each other glares of death. "Evan, come on! She's not worth it." Jesus grabbed her hand and pulled her into his room.
"Jesus!" She whined. "I wanna go see Callie and Jude!"
"Fine. Talk to you tomorrow?" He raised his eyebrows. "You know it." She laughed and left the room, walking down to the living room, where she knew full well Callie was. "Where'd you get that?" She asked her, seeing a beautiful, but old guitar on her sister's lap.
"It's Brandon's." Callie informed her. "He told me he didn't play anymore. I guess he didn't want it." She smiled.
Our mom sang, played guitar, and danced. She taught Callie guitar, taught me to sing properly, and tried to get Jude to dance, but, to be honest, he has no rhythm whatsoever.
"Callie?" I broke the silence.
"Huh?" She looked at the strings of the guitar.
"I really, really miss mom." I admitted.
"Yeah. Me too, Eva, me too."
