Meredith's P.O.V
When I finally made it to my house after dropping presents off, I was exhausted. Collen left after Starbucks since he had to pack. He was leaving tomorrow and I wasn't very happy about it. We had a great time today. It was like old times.
It was dark by the time I made it to the house which had Christmas lights around it and a big snowman on the porch. Guess Michael put that out here after I left.
I walked up the steps and stood on the porch. The curtains in the living room weren't shut so I saw the Christmas tree clearly making me smile. I opened up the front door just to get hit by a strong smell of hot chocolate and the sound of many people talking and giggling. As I closed the door behind me, I saw a little boy chasing a girl who was laughing. She looked about 12 and the boy looked about 10?
My confusion got deeper as I entered the living room to spot 17 people! Who the hell were these people? Everything went quiet and the only sound was coming from the kids who were running around laughing in the other room.
I stared at the people as they stared at me back. I gulped down as it felt like their eyes burning holes through my body. An elder woman glared at me then whispered something to the lady next to her. The lady nodded and glared at me as well.
What the hell was going on and why do these people staring at me like I was a ghost?
"Meredith! You're finally here," Michael came to my rescue letting me breathe again. "Who are these people?" I hissed between my teeth.
Michael gave the people and small smile and pushed me to the dining room which the table was decorated very nicely. "They are the guests," He finally answered my question after he made sure that no one heard us.
"Guests? They're like 20 people in there!" I whispered yelled. "I thought we were just going to have a few people over."
"Well we were but then Lindsey decided to invite some people from her family." Michael tried to explained. I grumbled and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Why are you pissed off? They're family," He stated. I just scowled at him.
"Family? I come home to find 20 people who are supposedly the family I never met and for them to glare at me like I murdered some body and just got out of jail!" I exclaimed.
"Tori's upstairs...." He answered quietly. My arms fell to the side as I put my lips in a straight line.
"They're blaming me aren't they?" I asked looked down.
"Obviously since you decided to beat the crap out of her in front of a crowd!" Michael responded putting his hands in the air.
"I don't want to go over this again Michael!" I stated trying to keep calm since there was 'our' and Lindsey's family right next door.
"I know it's not your fault and I tried to convince them that you didn't do anything wrong but they won't believe me since their daughter and grandchild in upstairs with a black eye!" Michael said. I sighed running my hands through my hair.
"Her parents are here?" I questioned closing my eyes and trying to not blow up. "Practically her whole family is here!" Michael exaggerated. I ground and sat down in one of the seats.
"This is so damn much for me! Everything keeps piling up!" I said but mostly to myself.
"Why what's going on?" Michael questioned sitting next to me. "Just a lot of drama. I'm tired and I just want to stay in bed for the rest of the night," I groaned getting up.
