Chapter 4
We walked outside for awhile and I found myself laughing along with him as he cracked jokes. I had no idea the last time I had laughed this hard, except for with Shay. I found myself opening up to him and telling him all about my life. I wasn't completely sure why I was telling him all this but I just loved that I had someone I could tell this to besides Her. The fact he was probably the first guy who had been nice to me before was kinda helping me along as well.
After I finished telling pretty much my whole life's story I looked up at him sheepishly. I couldn't help but realize, now that I was done talking, that his jokes ended awhile back and he had been silently listening for awhile now. I was nervous that he would look at me weird but I quickly realized he was smiling at me kindly and without judgement.
"You are a very strong girl. And quite an interesting specimen." His eyes twinkled in the darkness and you found yourself drowning in them. I was so dazed I didnt even notice how odd his phrasing had been.
I instead just stared at him and giggled. Some part of me couldn't believe how I was behaving due to the fact I never act in such a manner around guys. I'm normally quite a smart ass, to put it kindly. My bring up had somewhat hardened me and put me on my gaurd at all times.
However, this complete stranger seemed to be breaking down all my defenses in a short period of time. I then had a horrible realization or at least it was horrible to me because how rude could I be?
"I know absolutely nothing about you." I said this incredulously to myself. I didn't know I could talk so much. I was always deflecting conversations from myself to others.
"You will learn all in due time. Dont worry about that." He paused and smiled at me in slight amusement causing me to look at him in confusion.
He sighed in a reluctant manner before continuing, "the party ended about an hour ago though."
Shock coursed through me when I finally realized how late it was. I jumped up off of the bench I in all honesty didnt even remember stopping to sit in.
"I should go! Shay is going to flip out on me!" I then turned and started jogging in the direction of the mansion.
I hadn't gotten far when I felt a gentle yet firm grip around my wrist which caused me to skid to a halt. I once again found myself facing the attractive man.
"I've decided," he leaned towards my neck and whispered, "That I like you."
A gasp fell from my lips as he kissed my neck and before I could even overcome my shock of the situation, nameless man was gone.
I turned back towards the mansion with every intention to ponder over the situation and my possible loss of sanity later. Unfortunately before I could once again start towards the mansion and back to my friend I felt an extreme burning on my neck. Ironically it was right where he had kissed me. In the next moment I was brought to my knees by shooting pain that went up my neck and to my head.
Being the weird person I was my last thought I had before I passed out was: "I never even asked him his name...."
Then everything went as black as the night sky.
