Chapter 22
My breathing hitched in my throat at the sudden realization I had just had.
My eyes had been unable to detect him even turning around in time to catch the pillow I had tossed at him. I am sure confusion was written all over my features and he just smirked at me in amusement as he walked over to the bed.
My breathing stopped and my whole body stiffened when he reached over me and put the pillow back in its original place. I was unsure if I imagined it but he seemed to linger a moment before he straitened back up.
His eyes met mine as he broke the silence, "You should get dressed and head down. I wont discuss the terms today," My eyes narrowed at him at the word terms but i remained silent, "but I am sure you have questions. If you are lucky enough, I just may answer them." He smirked in amusement at his own statement then once again headed for the door. Oh joy. A man who finds amusement in his own ability to be a jerk. Lucky me.
I watched him as his hand hesitated over the doorknob and he spoke once more without turning around, "Also, don't bother trying to escape. I garuantee you that you will have no idea at all where to go. That and you may find it particularly... uncomfortable... if you tried to escape." He raised his hand in a fist and I felt pain as my tattoo began to heat up to almost an unbearable point. I cried out. His arm then went down and with it so did his hand. With that demonstrated he exited the room and closed the door silently behind him. I hate him. I don't know what's happening but I hate him.
I listened for a little while and strained my ears to ensure he had completely left to who knows where. When I was almost completely positive he was a safe distance away from this room I pushed the sheets off me, swung my legs over the edge of the bed, and stood up.
I was ready for light headedness or head splitting pain but I was surprised when I found none of that.
When I thought back to how I had just passed out I was incredibly perplexed. Up until I had met him I had never once in my life fainted. I smiled wryly as I realized since he had appeared in my life it had become a common occurence. I brushed the side of my neck where the tattoo was as sort of an after thought.
It was odd that before I passed out I always felt pain where the tattoo was. He seemed to have a direct control over it, which he as the jerk he is, just demonstrated.
He was right... I did have questions. Unfortunately if I left I wouldn't get any.
I sighed to myself in frustration. As much as I wanted to either escape or stay in this room and mope around, I had to know...
Stubborn as I am and curious as I am, I will get answers.
