Chapter 24

I placed my hand on the door knob and hesitated ever so briefly but once again feeling the impatience rush through me I quickly turned the knob and shoved the door open.

The room was rather dark and I hesitantly stepped inside. It was difficult to see anything in-front of or around me at all. Even though the door was open, no light came in at all since there had been so many turns down the stairs that had led here.

"Close the door", this was spoken in my mind and I grimaced because the fact he chose to speak in my mind. This annoyed me because it made it so I couldn't use his voice to be able to pinpoint where in the room he was.

I turned towards the door a little too quickly due to my frustration and nervousness. I ended up jamming my foot on the edge of the door. I let out a gasp of pain and began muttering profanities very lowly under my breath. The impact of my foot against the door had ended up slamming the door shut anyways but I was too angry to care about the complete darkness that fact had left me in.

I lifted up my injured foot and tried to grab the part that hurt with my hand, an act I immediately regretted since it caused me to hop around on one foot.

As I was hopping around carelessly I tripped once again over a loose floorboard and fell to my knees.

Hard.

Laughter erupted behind me and I groaned in pain and sheer embarrassment.

"You could of asked me to turn on the lights the moment you saw how dark it was."

"You seem like the dramatic sort. I thought it was sort of your thing." I spat at him.

He flipped on a light switch and I squinted due to the sudden change in brightness.

"At least I got to see your clumsiness in person for once. Just as I expected though. It was just that. Clumsiness. Not your usual ability you mistake as being...Jinxed."
