"This morning, something strange happened" I began. We were standing outside the door and he looked interested.

"I had this little thing where I remembered what happened a few years ago. When I.... you saved my life" I whispered and he looked at the floor.

"It was nothing" he mumbled, blushing.

"Marius it was! Your one of the best friends I have ever had!" I replied, hugging him.

"I couldn't just let you die" he said.

We pulled apart and I looked at the bottom of the stairs, where my sister stood with her jaw clenched and her eyes firing.

"Oh hi Poni-" I began but she raced up the stairs and pushed me into the meeting room where everyone went quiet and looked at me on the floor.

"What the hell is wrong?" I yelled at the crazy girl before me as I was getting up off the floor. Marius was still standing by the door and every single boy in the room looked shocked.

As soon as I stood up, I was met with a slap across the face which automatically pushed me down again. A slap that felt oddly familiar.

The slap that I had faced for many years of my life. While the boys were pulling an angry Éponine off me, I ignored the burning sensation in my left cheek and thought about the many years I spent receiving a slap familiar to this one. I began to shake, and my heart beat quickly. People around me were shouting my name and I saw Courf, Enjolras and Grantaire kneeling in front of me. Bahorel, Bosseut and Combeferre were dragging Éponine down the stairs to the back of the cafe. The rest of them were just darting around, not knowing what to do.

"Hey, are you okay?" I heard them yell in my face but I still couldn't focus. My world was swimming but I was drowning.

It was as if my legs had broken but I managed to quickly stumble up and ran down the stairs and out of the cafe before anyone could stop me.

My tears began to flow freely now and I relaxed a bit as I was in the open air. But I still couldn't breathe even though nobody was around

I ran over to the brick wall that was at the side of the Musain. I climbed on it, scraping my knees whilst doing so and I brought them up to my face, focusing on breathing slowly.

I had promised myself I wouldn't let them see this side of me. I promised myself that I would be strong.

Well that didn't work.

Enjolras

"Felicité!" I shouted as the small girl ran out of the room.

"I'll go after her" Grantaire started but I pushed him out of the way.

"No let me." I said, walking down the stairs as fast as I could. I saw the huddle of boys crowding Éponine at the back of the cafe and I frowned at them.

I wonder what had happened between them.

Felicité

I wiped my eyes furiously as I had calmed down my breathing to normal. I'm sure my face was red and puffy, and I could almost feel the hand mark on my face. It started to sting but I ignored it.

I heard a cough and I turned my head to see Enjolras leaning against the Mussain with pity in his sympathetic eyes, which were usually cold.

"Lissy" he sighed, sitting next to me.

"I'm fine" I smiled, blinking my eyes as if it would make me look like I hadn't been crying.

"No your not" He said simply. "And your going to tell me what happened"

I huffed. I was never going to get my own way with this boy

"That was the first time you said Lissy" I said matter of factly and he smiled.

"I know, now stop changing the subject" he said and I brought my legs closer to my face.

"There's nothing to say, I spoke to Marius, she saw me and went crazy" I mumbled.

"You don't have to answer this, but what were you talking to Marius about?" He said

"Its personal, you wouldn't understand" I said and he nodded. And then I realised

He must think the same as Éponine did.

That I was making a move.

"It's not what you think!" I blurted quickly and he shrugged.

"It's up to you-"

"No no no, I don't like Marius like that, Éponine does!" I said before clapping my hand over my mouth, realising what I had said.

It was as if my brain had put a filter on my eyes, making me see what I wanted to because it was like Enjolras looked relieved.

"Well if that's what happened, then your going to come inside with me and Éponine isn't allowed to come in until she's ready to behave like a normal person and apologises. The whole cafe is worried about you.... you have made quite an impact"

"No, I've got to say sorry, she shouldn't have to -"

"No, Lissy. I won't let you apologise for something that you didn't cause." He said sternly and I looked down at my knees.

"How did that happen?" He asked looking at my knees, his floppy hair drooping over his face.

"When I tried to climb on here" i said, climbing off.

"Wait, before we go in, I just want to make sure you are okay?" He said sincerely. For once in his life he looked like he actually cared. And for once in my life, someone cared.

"I'm fine now" I said smiling and he got off too.

He put his arm protectively around me as we walked into the Musain. The people sitting on the chairs were whispering to each other, some pointing.

"Don't you all have something better to do?" I yelled, my fiesty attitude coming back. They all got back to their drinks. I felt Enjolras' body vibrate and I looked up to see him secretly laughing.

He looked down at me. "Good one"  he said.

"Where is she?" I mumbled, and he tightened his grip on me. He scanned the cafe until he saw Grantaire come bounding over from the bar like a puppy .

"Don't worry she's gone." He said and I felt Enjolras relax. "How are you Lissy?" He said, pulling me from Enjolras and giving me a huge hug.

"I'm okay thanks R" I mumbled into his shirt.

"Okay okay that's enough" Enjolras said, sounding annoyed. I rolled my eyes at Grantaire and he shook his head with his eyebrows raised. "Where are the others?"

"We thought we would carry on while you were sorting out Lissy. I was thirsty" he said and I giggled at how stupid he sounded.

"Whatever" Enjolras huffed. "Let's go upstairs."

We climbed the stairs in a row, Grantaire then me and then Enjolras. The door opened and I walked in. They all went to sit down and I went back to my place on the windowsill, wondering where my sister was.
