"Goooood morning" Courf sang, walking over to join me on the window. "You look tired... I wonder what you two got up to last night" he said, cheekily grinning and laughing lamely at his own joke. I simply rolled my eyes. I would let him laugh. It would be better than seeing him cry if he found out what really happened. I couldn't decide though if he'd cry for what I was going through or the lack of action. Both sounded like Courfeyrac.

"Where's R?" I asked

"He joining us later for the surprise" and he winked. Ugh, I had almost forgotten about that

"I hate surprises" I grumbled like an old man and Courf swatted my shoulder.

"Oh lighten up" he commanded, grabbing my hand and inspecting my nails all of a sudden.

"Can I help you?" I asked slowly in a questioning tone.

"You've got great fingers, beautiful nails" he conplemented strangely. Well strange, was Courf.

"Thank you I guess?" I said snatching my hand back.

"Oh I almost forgot! You'll be meeting Musichetta!" He said excitedly.

"Oh yeah, I've heard a lot about her. You'll be meeting Cosette"

"I thought it was Courgette?" He said, looking genuinely confused. "At least that's what Enjolras has been calling her"

"Of course he has" I sighed to myself, letting my eyes roam to the boy who was now lecturing Marius about his dedication to the cause. Nothing new then.

"He should really be a bit nicer to Marius. He was horrible to me when I first joined" I muttered to myself and Courf raised his eyebrows, examining the situation like me.

"You weren't exactly completely innocent. You provoked him and stole his line which almost gave him a stroke" he said, talking about the rally and I couldn't help smirking. That was funny.

"I love him" I said in my head and heard the words, only realising I had said them out loud.

"Oh we know you do. We know he loves you as well"

"Courf am I making the wrong descision? We know what's going to happen. I could walk away now, unharmed"

"That won't convince you. You love him too much that it will do you more harm to go without saying goodbye. I hate thinking about what's to come. Of course, there is a chance of survival but only about 1%" he said sadly. I started to think about the other boys families as I took his hand. They would all be leaving behind people. Bosseut and Joly would be leaving Chetta, Courf, Ferre, Bahorel, Jehan, Feuilly and Grantaire their families and Marius, Cosette. It wasn't going to be easy for any of them.

"I wish there were such things as happy endings" I said as Enjolras caught sight of us looking somber and looked sympathetic, guessing what we were talking about.

"I do too. In Ferres 'alternate universe' that he's always talking about, we would be happily together, living in a great big house and you guys would be over all the time" he babbled happily to himself, as if talking about this was letting him not face reality for a while.

"We would sit together and plan things to do as a big family" I said, getting into it.

We sighed in unison and I decided not to look at Courf. I knew he'd feel uncomfortable if I caught him looking upset. I just gently placed my hand on his, hoping my presence was making him feel better.

We sat like that for a while as the meeting continued. They were planning for LaMarques funeral, something I couldn't even bear to think about. It seemed Courfeyrac felt the same as his eyes followed his boyfriend around the room sadly as he talked to Enjolras. Every so often I caught Enjolras' eyes and I tried to smile reassuringly, to convince him to go through with it. I couldn't let my own selfish needs get in the way of what he really wanted.

Suddenly the door swung open and Grantaire swanked into the room, his signature smirk adorning his face.

"Let's get this party started!" He yelled and I smiled to myself. I couldn't be sad for a moment. They boys always there to cheer me up.

Enjolras' lips slowly sunk into a thin little line. Of course he was annoyed that Grantaire had interupted the meeting but I was growing restless to find out what this surprise was and we needed to lighten the mood around here.

"Okay fine. We will cut the meeting short today. We got a lot done I guess" he said reluctantly and glaring at Grantaire, who seemed not to notice.

"Let me go and find Cosette" Marius said, running down the stairs. "I'll meet you outside the cafe in 10 minutes!"

"Chetta is downstairs" Bosseut said and Joly nodded along. "I'll go get her"

Moments later, they reappeared with a beautiful young woman of about 20. She had dark hazelnut skin and mesmerising brown eyes that you could get lost in. I felt disgusting next to her.

"You must be Felicité! Bosseut and Joly have told me so much about you!" She said loudly, pulling me into a huge hug. I was shocked at first but hugged her back tightly, instantly warming to the girl.

"And you're Musichetta? It's lovely to meet you"

"Just Chetta. And great to meet you too!" She laughed, making smiles appear on the boys faces. I could tell that she lit up every room and everyone was happy around her. "I can tell we are going to be great friends" she whispered in my ear and I grinned back at her.

"Grantaire could you be any quieter? I could hear you all the way downstairs" I heard Éponines voice as she trudged up the stairs. "What's all this? A party? Sans moi? Without me"

"I don't know what it is Ponine! They won't tell me" I grumbled, getting attacked by Enjolras as he pulled me towards him, a sly smile on his face.

"It's a surprise that's why" he said, our faces so close that we could kiss if I leant forward a centimetre or two. He seemed to think the same as he quickly stole a kiss from my unsuspecting lips.

"I love you" he said sweetly and I rolled my eyes.

"I guess I love you too... can we go now, everyone's staring?"

"Fine"
