The bells chimed as I arrived at the church. It was a gorgeous summers day, and the sun beat down on us, joyful to celebrate this occasion with us all.

I removed a foot from the carriage as I clung onto Jean ValJean, who beamed at me as I stood vertically and waited for Cosette and Musichetta and Courfeyrac and Violette to exit as well.

Musichetta and Cosette were wearing pale lilac dresses, that were cut just above the knee and their hair was lightly curled, courtesy of Jehan and was blowing behind them in the breeze. They were clutching pastel coloured bouquets. I relied on Jehan for the flower and decoration scheme and he did good. Violette wore a white bridesmaid dress, looking like a mini-me.

My own dress was created by Musichetta and Feuilly, who had decided to take up designing. It was exquisite. The white material was so long but fanned out a little from the waist and above that, the corset was tighter. It was my dream dress.

With shaking hands, Courf beamed at me before taking my arm as we stood at the back exit of the church. I could hear the music starting up inside. I grinned at Courfeyrac. I remembered asking him to give me away. He was very close to my little brother, and I had thought, if that day was to ever come, I would want Gav to give me away. Courf gladly agreed to do so, with his fiancé as Enjolras' best man, along with Grantaire... we didn't play by the rules.

"You ready Lissy?" He asked, tucking a strand of my styled curls behind my ear.

"I'm ready Courf"

Cosette and Musichetta clutched Violette hand as they stood behind my train, and followed me down the isle.

Everyone turned around and I beamed at the congregation. Jehan, Joly, Bosseut, Feuilly, Bahorel and Marius were sitting on the front row.

Jehan was crying already and so was Marius. Joly grinned like I had never seen before and Bosseut gave me a little thumbs up, blowing a kiss. Feuilly winked at me and handed a tissue to Bahorel, who suspiciously looked like he was crying. I giggled.

Madame Hucheloup was the row behind, standing with her daughter and her daughters boyfriend. I smiled at them all.

Enjolras' family took up most of the pews. His mother was wiping her eyes and sniffling proudly and his dad grinned at everyone. Enjolras older brother and sister were also there, whom I had never met. They were smirking at Enjolras and waved at me.

It was also full of distant aunts and uncles of his, grandparents, cousins. Since I had no real family, Enjolras took the liberty of inviting everyone he knew to witness the special day, and to welcome me into his family.

And Enjolras...

He was standing at the alter, beaming at me. His curls were growing out again but styled. His suit was black and in his breast pocket, sat a little rose. Grantaire and Combeferre stood a little behind him, their expression of love the same.

The bishop Myriel ( who ValJean had asked to marry us) smiled kindly as I stepped onto the alter. Courf kissed my cheek and led the three girls into a pew.

I looked out to face everyone. The gorgeous chapel was full of people that meant a lot to us, except at the back. There was a single empty pew.

I squinted slightly and could make out something. Suddenly, it wasn't empty: Gavroche and Éponine were standing there like everyone else. Éponine was in a white gown and Gav, in a white tux. I did have my family. Éponine smiled softly at me and mouthed something, yet I could hear it as if she was whispering it in my ear.

"I told you I would be with you, every step of the way"

And I turned to face my fiancé.

He was the love of my life. And his hand trembled as he took mine, however we both knew we couldn't be serious, even at a time like this.

"Red, the blood of angry men" I sang under my breath, pointing to the red rose.

"Black, the dark of ages past" Enjolras replied quietly. Together, we burst into uncontrollable laughter as the congregation wondered what on earth was happening to us.

"Sorry" I laughed, wiping my eyes with laughter-tears and nodded to the bishop to start. Enjolras coughed, to stay serious.

"Dearly beloved..."

And with that, I turned to face the single pew again. And I saw their smiling faces one last time, before they disappeared slowly. I heard my sisters voice though.

"Don't forget, we will be with you every step of the way"
