Grantaire's sneaky face grinned at me as we faced each other in the water, I snarled playfully at him, pushing a mound of water at him in revenge.

"I hate you" I told him.

"Love you too darling" he replied, blowing a kiss in my direction. We both looked over to where my overprotective boyfriend stood on a rock on the edge of the path, watching us like an eagle.

"Okay lets break this up" he smirked, jumping 3 meters, into the water and landing right between us, making us both sink. I wrapped my legs around Enjoras' waist and we glided through the water, my wet head resting on his shoulder.

Everyone else jumped in together so R wasn't lonely and soon enough, the peacefully silent forest became alive with cries of laughter.

After spending at least an hour together in the water, playing and messing about, some of us retreated back to the grassy shore while the others sat on the rocks and paddled.

"Thank you for today, I usually hate surprises, but this was perfect" I said. My head was resting on his tummy and we were lying down, absorbing the sun that rarely came to visit Paris.

"Just wanted my favourite girl to feel happy" he said in reply and I grinned.

"That Monsieur Enjolras, was extremely cheesy. You sound like Marius" I laughed and looked at him, where he pretended to look horrified.

Marius and Cosette were spinning each other around in the water, laughing like a chorus of angels. I snickered when I saw Grantaire and Éponine sitting on the cliff side together and pulling faces at them.

"God, they're like twins" Enjolras muttered under his breath.

"Yeah" I sighed, lying back down. I entwined my fingers with his and pressed a kiss to our hands. "Do you know... when I first met you I thought you were well annoying" I informed him and I felt his chest vibrate from chuckling.

"You were more annoying. Ferre had to practically beg to make me consider letting you join" he said.

"But I thought you were handsome, I just didn't want to admit it to myself" I said to him.

"And I thought you were so beautiful but I didn't want the others to know" he laughed. I was about to reply when I spotted something out of the corner of my eye.

"E!" I hissed, jolting up and letting him drag his body off the soft grass.

"What?" He said loudly and I elbowed him in the chest to shut him up.

"Ow!" He moaned, looking in the direction my finger was pointing. "What!"

There, sitting about ten metres away from us was Courf and Ferre, behind a tree... kissing.

Myself and Enjolras looked at each other dead in the eyes, a soft smile coming to our faces.

"I'm, I'm so proud of them" he stuttered in disbelief.

"I am too" was all I could manage to say. I felt a surge of emotion, looking at my two best friends who disregarded all negative opinions about their sexuality and were openly kissing.

"They look so happy" he said under his breath, sounding content.

"I love how they think no one can see them" I said smiling innocently.

Even the way they were seated showed a lot about their relationship. Courfeyrac was sitting cross legged and Combeferre had his hands around his waist.

"Don't you think it's sad how society has deemed their love strange and unhealthy" Enjolras muttered angrily and I placed my hand on his torso, still bare.

"Hey, as long as we let them know that they are loved no matter what, they'll be fine" I assured him. He smiled and kissed my forehead.

"I love you" he said.

"We say that a lot" I replied and he grinned.

"I like saying it. And I like you saying it"

"Well then I'll make sure I say it all the time mon amour"

"Hey lovebirds" Éponine boomed and Enjolras and I, Cosette and Marius and Courfeyrac and Combeferre turned around. I think only Enj and I noticed.

"You two, over here!" She said, pointing at us.

"Say please" I said, getting up and extending my hand out for Enjolras to drag himself up.

"No. Come over here, I need to ask you something" she said, turning back to Grantaire. Sometimes, I really was surprised at how similar we were.

"What are those two doing? They been behind that huge tree for ages" she asked as we sat in a long line, our feet dangling over the rocky cliffside.

"Um" Enjolras started, looking at me for help. I shrugged at him, biting my lip, unsure of what to say.

"We don't know" he said and my sister and R simultaneously raised their right eyebrows, not believing a word that we were saying.

"Whatever" she smirked.

"Okay are we free to go now?" I asked impatiently and she nodded. "Right, bye then" I said and pulled Enjolras away.

"Shit.. that was close" I said under my breath.

"What do we do?" He gulped.

"Just leave it to them to tell us. They might not be ready to share" I said and he looked over to where they were now just holding hands and talking, and a soft smile formed on his lips.

"Okay I've got to tell you something." I said, unable to keep it to myself now I saw how happy he was for them.

"Ferre told me about this after... that night. When they were all around and he was checking my stitches." I started and looked down to my waist to see my scar was beginning to fade

"He also may or may not have mentioned that-" I say taking a deep breath. "You liked me"

I expected him to look annoyed that his best friend told me first but he started spluttering and pulled me into his body. I had to admit, it felt good, leaning into his exposed chest.

"So that was what that 'good friend' thing was about" he said, a smile prying on his lips.

"Mhm"

"Oh you make me laugh" he said, placing his thumb and forefinger on my two cheeks and squeezed gently.

"I'm not 4 years old" I muffled, trying to swat his hand away but it was proved difficult with my cheeks pressed.

"You act like it sometimes"
