Imagine being put together with Lay for a group project. Because your group was done before class was over, you spent the left over time talking to Lay. He usually talks about his basketball practice, so you decided to ask him about it.
"Ah, I got kicked out," he replied. "I don't want to talk about it."
He let out a sigh and forced a smile so you changed the subject to music. After school, you went to look for the basketball coach to convince him to take back Lay in the team.
"He quit," the coach said.
"No, he really loves basketball and he's really talented. You shouldn't kick him out," you explained.
Lay was watching outside the gym and smiling because you were so cute and silly. He ran to you before you said anything else and pulled you by the arm. You had no reason to run, but you followed him wherever he dragged you to. You stopped at the nearby benches. He let go of your hands and turned his back against you with his hands on his waist as he tried to catch his breathe.
"You're so silly, you know?" He said.
He started laughing, you were confused.
"I didn't get kicked out. I lied. I actually quit the team," he explained.
"Why?" You asked surprisingly.
He sighed as he looked up to the sky.
"Why did you tell me you got kicked out then?" You asked.
He took in a deep breath and looked down then turned to face you.
"I quit because I wanted to spend more time with you. I knew you wouldn't want me to do that so I lied that I got kicked out," he said.
You became silent.
"It's not so bad," he laughed. "The coach wasn't even good at training us."
You laughed as well.
"That's the laughter I want to hear and the smile I want to see more often," he said.
Because you were shy, you turned your back against him pretending to walk around the park. He chuckled and followed behind. You kept smiling so you bit your lips trying to not smile.
"The sky is so clear and beautiful today," you said to change the topic.
"I think you're more beautiful," he replied leaving you with nothing to say again.
He chuckled with a big smile because he found it adorably cute when you're shy.
"Was there any homework other than the project?" You asked referring to the class you have with him for the last class of the day.
"Wasn't paying attention because I was too focused on you," he replied.
He gave answers right away without a pause after you asked the question. He kept smiling because you were so cute when you had no words to say regarding his sweet talk. He grabbed you by the wrists.
"Stop walking in circles," he said while continuing to smile.
You stood there as he held your wrists. He walked a step closer towards you and slowly wrapped his arms around your waist. He rested his head on your shoulders as he kept smiling.
"I've waited two years to hold you like this," he said. "Only getting to have glance at you whenever you pass by me in the hallway. You don't even know how many times I wanted to say hi. This year, my luck was good enough that I have you in my class. I took advantage of when we worked in groups so that I could get to know you more. I realized I was only falling deeper and deeper, and to the point I couldn't keep it a secret anymore."
There was an awkward silence other than the wind blowing and the trees swaying.
"Since you're not pushing me away, I'm going to assume that you feel the same toward me," he said.
You could tell in his voice that he was so happy, it just made you smile uncontrollably.
