Family ever after

I'm so glad I got to witness my big brother get married today and I wish him the best with Hazel. We've all come a long way since that summer and I'm proud of us all. Right now we are at the wedding reception and I'm having a great time with Justin.

"I'm going to grab a drink babe", Justin said leaving the table.

I nodded and felt the urge to use the ladies room. I walked into the hall where the bathrooms were when I was pushed against the wall.

"Shawn what are-

Shawn's soft lips met mine shutting me up instantly. God how much I missed his lips....no Ava this is wrong! Is it really? I should've pulled away but I didn't. Instead I gave in and pushed my lips back onto his. We eventually pulled apart and it hit me how wrong that was.

"Shawn I can't-

"Please Ava. I can't be without you any longer. I don't know why I keep letting you go because I'm miserable every time. I need you. I love you. Please", Shawn said.

"I don't-

"I mean it this time. Damn it Avalon! Marry me" he said.

"What?"

"Marry me. I want us. I want to have a family with you and spend every second together"

"Justin-

"Here, if you walk away and go back to Justin I'll just give it up and leave you alone. I'll understand he's the one you want but if you stay I'll know you love me and I can be the guy you deserve" he told me.

I felt a cold tear fall and I let Shawn's hand go. I walked away with no words said. I just left. I stopped in my tracks when I saw Justin lead a chesty blonde into a room. That was enough to make me realize who I wanted. More like needed. I wiped my tears and ran back hoping Shawn would be there. He was.

"Don't say anything just kiss me", I said.

Shawn smiled and cupped my face. Once more we kissed intensely.

"Yes" I whispered.

"Yes what?"

"I'll marry you" I replied. "Someday"

"Someday" he said.

Shawn and I interlocked hands and walked back to the reception. My mom smiled knowing what was going on.

"Caleb! Let's all take a picture" my mom suggested.

Shawn, dad, mom, myself, Caleb, Hazel and Mia all gathered together. Our lives will never have a happily ever after but we will always have family ever after.....
