"Because Ava!!!! He's a drug addict and I'm your mother!!!", I shouted.

"Ugh! you're so unfair!!!", she yelled.

Ava stormed off and I placed my hands on my head. I don't know what's gotten into Ava lately. She's being very sneaky and she's been hanging around Jackson Brookcrest a lot who I've heard is a big time druggie. I'm worried Ava will fall into the wrong hands and I won't be able to save her this time.

"Baby you're eight months pregnant. Don't worry", Taylor said.

"Taylor I'm scared she's getting herself into trouble!!!", I said.

"Hey, Ava is a smart girl okay? She's going to make the right choice".

"Haha I'm so highh!!", I giggled as I lied on Jackson's bedroom floor.

I've been hanging out with Jackson a lot more. I don't know if I like him or not. I do know when I'm with him I seem to forget all the crap I've been through this summer. Maybe that's why I'm with him. I can forget it all and escape. I can't go without smoking or taking something lately. I'm not addicted. I haven't spoken to Shawn since the day after the party. He basically accused me of cheating and broke things off. I don't remember one thing from that night.

"Baby come here", Jackson said pulling me onto his lap.

Jackson began placing kisses along my collar bone then moved up to my lips. I ran my fingers through his blonde hair and he pulled away.

"Here take this baby", he whispered.

He put a white pill into my mouth and I began feeling the effects. I wasn't on earth anymore it felt like. My eyes shut and the world slowly faded away.

"Babe I'm sure she's okay", Hazel said as I watched the driveway carefully.

"Nah, something is very very wrong", I replied.

"Do you know where she could be?", Hazel asked.

"Crap! I remember her and mom fighting about going to Jackson's place", I said.

Ava is a mess lately. She's lost loads of weight and looks stoned most of the time. Hanging around Jackson I wouldn't doubt her being stoned.

"Where are you going!!!?", Hazel asked as I grabbed my keys.

"To save my sister!".

I stormed out of the house and sped to Jackson's. I bursted through the door and found Ava lying on the floor beyond high.

"What did you do to her!!!", I yelled.

"Bruh calm down", Jackson said. "She's just having some fun".

"Fun my ass", I mumbled.

I scooped Ava, who only weighed about 99 pounds now, up and carried her to my car.

"Ava this is going to stop you here me!!", I said.

I knew she needed help. She was addicted to drugs. First thing I needed to get her to the hospital.
"How could this happen. I did the best I could for her!!", my mom cried.

"Mom this isn't your fault okay? She just lost her way but I'm going to help her", I said.

I wrapped my arms around my mom and promised I would help Avalon. Ava was released some time the next day and we all had to sit down and have a discussion with her.

"No! I'm not going to a rehab center!!!", I shouted at my family.

They seem to think I'm some kind of drug addict!!!

"I'm not a drug addict!!!", I shouted.

"Sweetie we aren't accusing you of being a drug addict but after Violet you've lost your way and we think you need to get help", my mother said with that sweet tone.

"Mom-

"Ava do it for me", his voice said from behind us.

I turned around and saw Shawn standing there with red and puffy eyes.

"Shawn-

"Avalon listen! You haven't been the same since Violet and it's killing you. I know it is. You're tearing your family apart and you need help!!", he said taking my hands. "Please".

I didn't want to accept it but my family was right. I do need help. I turned to my family and nodded.

"I need help", I said letting tears fall.

"Here. You leave tomorrow my dad said handing me a plane ticket.

"Ava can we go somewhere and talk?", Shawn asked.

I nodded and we went to his car.

"So this has been a really crazy summer", he sighed.

"Yeah it has. I'm sorry about everything Shawn it's just after losing Violet I didn't know what to do anymore. I mean when I found I was pregnant I knew what my life was going to be and when she died I...I just didn't know what was I supposed to do", I explained breaking down.

"Hey, listen to me. Everything's going to be okay", Shawn said wiping my tear away. "I'll make sure of it".

I leaned in and kissed Shawn slowly. It felt great.

"I missed you", he whispered.

"Maybe we can try again once I get back?", I shrugged.

Shawn pecked my lips gently and looked at me.

"We'll see", he whispered. "Let's just get you better first".

I nodded and got out of the car. Lately i haven't been home so maybe I should spend it with my family before I leave. The fam and I spent the day talking and laughing. I forgot about everything that had happened this summer when I was with them. I didn't need drugs or Jackson. I just needed my family.
-Leaving day
Today is the day. I'm going away for the last two months of summer. I'm not happy about it but I do know I need help. I'm not okay at all. I'm very sad about leaving to be honest. I could miss the birth of Gina and Mia. Not to mention when Caleb proposes to Hazel.

"Ready?", my mom asked.

I nodded and grabbed my bags.

"Hey, I'm very proud of you for doing this for yourself", she said.

I gave my mom a hug and felt Gina kick.

"I'm sorry if I'm not here for her", I said.

"Listen. You have her whole life to be there", mom smiled.

Mom and I walked out of my room and downstairs where Caleb, Hazel, Shawn, Cameron, Maggie and my dad stood.

"Well this is it", I said.

"Let's get going", my dad said pecking my cheek.

Shawn nodded and grabbed my hand. We all piled into the car and I rested my head on Shawn's shoulder. I felt him peck the side of my head and rest his on mine.

"I love you", he whispered.

"I love you too".

When we arrived I said my goodbyes to everyone which was emotional and finally it was Shawn's turn. Help me.

"Baby I'm so proud of you for taking this step. I just love you so much", he sobbed.

"I love you too baby", I cried. "I'll be back soon and I'll be better I promise".

"I know you will".

"Well this is it I guess", I said.

Shawn pulled me into a tight hug and we kissed for a good minute before I had to go. I smiled and turned to walk away. Like I said, this is it.....,
