4 months later*Ava*
"Wow Av are you okay?", Hazel asked as I finished barfing for the thousandth time.

"I don't know. I've been sick for awhile", I shrugged.

"Sorry bae", she said rubbing my arm. "I'm going to go see Caleb".

I nodded and she walked out of my room. I didn't have time to be sick. Today was my moms baby shower and gender reveal party so I had to get ready. I walked to my bathroom and stripped out of my Jammie's. I looked in the mirror and noticed my stomach was a bit fuller than normal. Maybe I'm just eating too much. I shrugged it off and put my outfit on. I picked out a white dress that had pink roses on it and my wedges. I curled my hair and did a little makeup.

"You look great", Caleb said smiling.

"Thanks bro. You look good too", I giggled.

"It's crazy that moms having a baby and I'm having a baby", he chuckled.

"I know".

"Well let's get going", Caleb said motioning towards the living room.

We walked into the living room which was filled with our closest friends and dads parents.

"Hi guys", my mom said smiling and greeting us with a hug.

"You look awesome mom", I said as I admired her blue dress and curled hair.

"Thanks sweetie", she kissed my cheek.

I mingled for awhile until the house felt a little too crowded. I walked out back to get some air. I smiled as I saw Shawn sitting in the lounge chair singing and playing guitar.

"That's a great song", I said approaching him.

"Oh hey Ava. Thanks", he replied.

Shawn put his guitar down and scooted over so I could sit down.

"What's it called?", I asked.

"Hm?".

"The song you were singing".

"Oh it's called Mercy", he chuckled.
{Who else is obsessed with this songggg!!!!}

"Can I hear the rest of it?", I asked.

"Yeah sure".

Shawn picked up his guitar and began playing.
"Shawn that song is amazing!!!", I exclaimed as he finished the song.

"Thank you", he smiled.

Something seemed off with him and I've noticed it after the hospital. Granted I've only seen him once and he stays away from me.

"Shawn?", I said touching his hand.

He looked at our hands and then me. I moved my hand and my cheeks turned bright red.

"No. Keep your hand there", he said grabbing my hand. "It makes me feel safe".

Our fingers interlocked with each other's and it felt natural.

"Shawn why have you been down and avoiding me lately?".

"Ava I'm so sorry. It's just after what Jace did to you I've felt like I could've stopped it before it happened", Shawn said looking in my eyes.

I cupped his face in my hand and shook my head.

"There is nothing you or anyone else could've done ok? It was just something that happened. You saved me Shawn. You saved me", I said letting a tear fall off my cheek.

Shawn wiped the tear off my cheek and slowly leaned in. Our lips connected and that same fiery spark and passion flew threw me.

"Ava", he whispered.

"Shawn I-

"We can't keep doing this can we?", he asked looking away.

I grabbed his hand again and he looked back at me.

"Shawn I like you", I whispered.

"I like you too Avalon but this isn't right. You're my best friends daughter", he said.

"Hey don't worry about that", I said. "We can figure this out together".

Shawn nodded and I lifted his chin so he could meet my eyes. Out lips crashed together and I never wanted it to end.

I watched Shawn and Ava kiss from the kitchen window and I didn't get mad or even bothered by it. Ava had been unhappy for so long and all I wanted was for her to be happy. Shawn hadn't been himself unless he was around Ava and the two of them brought out the best in each other. Whatever I had to do to make sure they worked I would do it.

"Caleb where's your sister? It's almost time to reveal the gender", my mom said walking in.

"Uh she's...in the bathroom", I said.

"Caleb where is she?".

"She's on her period! Geez mom can't a woman bleed in peace!!!", I said.

"Okay weirdo. Tell her to hurry up", she said walking out of the kitchen.

I knew my parents wouldn't accept Shawn and Ava together at all but like I said, no one is ruining my baby sisters happiness.

"There you are", I said to Ava as she and Shawn walked in. "I covered for you so you and boy toy could make out now go in the living room".

Ava giggled and walked into the living room where mom, dad and everyone else stood. I found Hazel and I wrapped my arms around her belly and pecked her cheek. Everything was ok.

Taylor and I gave a small speech about how thankful we were everyone could attend and how blessed we were to be having another baby. My mind kept drifting back to the odd encounter with Caleb earlier. I knew he was covering for Ava. I also knew she and Shawn had a thing going. At first it concerned me but I knew he would take care of her. Taylor would be hard to tell but as a mom I've learned a thing or two about breaking news to someone.

"Han?", Taylor said snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Oh yeah let's cut the gender cake!!", I said clapping.

Taylor and I joined hands and slid the knife through the center of the cake. PINK!!!! Yes we are having another girl!! Taylor kissed my lips gently while everyone around us cheered. I'm so blessed to have the life I have. I have three beautiful kids and one perfect grandchild. Life is great.....
