"So are you ready for tonight man?", my buddy Brent asked.

Tonight I'm proposing to Hazel and I'm beyond nervous.

"I don't know bro. I'm nervous", I shrugged.

"Don't be nervous. You'll be fine and she'll say yes", Brent patted my shoulder.

"Well I've got to get going. Gotta set everything up", I said.

I left the house and headed to a local florist shop.

"Hey can I help you?", a man asked.

"Yeah I need three dozen roses", I told him.

The guy had them to be delivered to our favorite beach. I left the shop and headed home to get dressed and make sure everyone knew what they were doing for tonight.

"Oh my baby boy!!!", mom cried.

Gosh she's so emotional when she's pregnant. Hazel is too. Women.

"Mom it's not a huge deal", I chuckled.

"Of course it is Caleb! You're going to be getting married!!", my father interjected.

"If only Ava was here to see it", my mom said.

Ava has been in the rehab program for a little over a week now and I assume she's doing okay. I haven't really spoken to her or my family. They won't let us call for the first three weeks. Yeah I really wish my baby sister was here to witness my sick proposal but I wouldn't let that affect my mood tonight.

"Mom can we not make this about Ava for once!", I asked storming upstairs.

So I did let it affect my mood but it seems like this summer has been all about Ava!!!! When am I going to get my moment!!!

"Caleb? Sweetie?", my mom knocked softly.

I shouldn't have snapped but I just...I don't know why I snapped. Maybe I was a little jealous of how much attention Ava gets. It's always that way!!

"Come in", I replied.

Mom came in with a sympathetic smile and her hand around her belly. I loved how she always had her hand around her stomach like she was protecting the baby. I guess it's a mom thing because Ava did it and Hazel does it.

"Honey I'm sorry for whatever I did", she said sitting beside of me and grabbing my hand.

"No don't apologize mom...I shouldn't have snapped. I guess this whole summer so far has been mainly about Ava and I guess I just wanted something to be about me for once", I shrugged.

"Baby this your night okay? Tonight is going to be about you I promise. I'm so sorry you felt this way", mom replied. "I'll make sure attention is equal".

I smiled and gave my mom a huge hug. My mothers hug always made me feel better.

"Now you've got a big night ahead of you and it needs to go off smoothly so let's get you dressed", she smiled.

"Mom I'm eighteen I'm confident I can dress myself", I laughed.

"Oh really? Do your socks match?", she asked.

"No but-

"Enough said. Hmmm...here we go", she chirped.

She selected a white dress shirt and khaki shorts. My mom has good taste I'll give her that.
"You ready kid?", my dad asked placing both hands on my shoulders.

"Yeah I'm just anxious. What if she says no?".

"Hey she loves you and I'm sure she'll say yes", he replied.

Cameron and Maggie walked in and Cam approached me.

"Take care of my baby girl or I'll cut your d-

"CAMERON!", Maggie yelled.

"Wha I just saying", he shrugged.

"I'll take care of her and Mia sir I promise", I smiled.

"Good boy. Now let's get a move on", Cam said.

We all piled into the jeep and drove off to the beach. I became more anxious by the second. I'm having a baby next month and I'm about to get engaged. We got out and I handed each of my helpers their pieces. I decided to write the words will you marry me on surfboards and make everyone hold one. All I had to do was wait for my princess to arrive so I could make her my queen...

After a long day I was exhausted and ready to see Caleb. I know I've done some messed up stuff but I've realized how much I truly do love Caleb. I know he loves me because he always came back after I messed up. I stay at his house now mostly and visit my parents when I can. I didn't see Caleb's car parked in the drive which was odd because he's home most of the time. I shrugged and unlocked the front door. When I walked in my jaw dropped at the scene in front of me. Candles were lit in the shape of a heart and roses spelled out my name. I followed the arrows that pointed to our bedroom and when I walked in a white dress with matching sandals were displayed nicely. A note was attached.
My princess,
You've truly become more than my world and every princess needs a dress so throw this on and meet me at the beach. <3 ~Caleb C.
I smiled at how cute he is and put the dress on. I curled my hair and did my makeup. The only car that was here was Ava's Honda. I grabbed the keys and drove to the beach. I wondered why Caleb was doing all of this. When I arrived I saw Hannah's jeep and knew something was up. I hopped out and there were roses in the shape of arrows pointing me to my destination. I began walking, more like waddling, down the beach until I spotted Caleb.

"Hey baby", he smiled.

I pecked his lips and looked around.

"What's all this for?", I asked.

"Mom! Dad! Cam! Maggie!! Shawn!!!", Caleb said with a smirk.

One by one they stepped out. I was still very confused.

"Hazel Dallas, I knew when we had our play dates together you were my girl. You have changed my life in ways no one else can. Yes you've done some things but so have I. I can't wait to start a life with you and Mia, baby....please let me make you my queen", Caleb said. "Turn around".

When I turned around everyone was holding surfboards that spelled out will you marry me. I covered my mouth in shock and when I turned to Caleb he had a ring and was down on one knee.

"Marry me Hazel?", he asked.

I nodded and managed to squeak out a yes. Caleb cupped my face and indulged me in one hell of a kiss.

After Hazel said yes I knew my life was sealed. I had everything. A family, a beautiful fiancé and a baby girl on the way. Life for me was a happily ever after so far.....
