"Come on! We do this every time we come up here. " Violet says.
We've all come up to this hill that overlooks the lake where some people come to jump off of. Lucy Joe and Caspar are sitting on towels down the hill next to the lake. Jack already jumped in and i'm standing at the top of the hill with Cody and Violet.
"Yes and every time i tell you i don't want to jump, and every time you make me!" i say folding my arms across my chest. "Because after i make you, you always love it."
"Afraid of heights are we?" Cody says chuckling. "Shut up!" i say hitting his arm.
"You did not just hit me." he says raising his eyebrows.
Joe's POV
I'm sitting with Caspar drinking a beer watching Jack yell at Lucy to get in, which she finally does. "So Emma knows about you and Lucy?" he gives me a look. "Well, clearly." he laughs
"You know what i meant." i say rolling my eyes. "Yeah. She's cool with it, thankfully." i nod my head. "Is it weird? Yanno, since you've known Lucy a long time, and never really seen her like that. " i say raising the beer to my lips.
"Well yeah. But we actually had a conversation and i got to know her better and.. i don't know we just hit off really well." he says smiling at Lucy.
I hear Violet yell and my attention goes to the top of the hill.
I watch her jump off and splash into the water. I look back up and see Cody and Emma messing around. He keeps grabbing her and she's hitting him but they're laughing. He eventually picks her up and jumps and she screams the whole way down.
"Do you like cody and emma together?" i ask watching them splash each other.
He immediately looks at me. "You seem really interested in who she's with and who she likes, recently." i chuckle at what he says.
"Just looking out for her." I say taking another drink.
I don't know why i'm so worried about it either. I think it's the fact that she isn't talking to me and how bad i feel.
Later we all decided to get drunk and smoke. Emma Lucy and Violet were all dancing together as Me and the guys did chugging contests.
"Can we go upstairs now?" Violet comes over to Jack kissing on him. "Yes please go upstairs, no one wants to see this." Caspar says and i laugh as they finally go upstairs. "You-" Caspar says pointing at Cody. "Are not taking my sister upstairs." Cody holds his hands up in a surrender type way. "I wasn't going to, we're just friends." he chuckles. "Really? i thought you two were..-" I stop mid sentence. "Nah we just work better as friends." he says then Caspar hands him another shot and they take one together.
"Anyone wanna smoke with me?" Emma says stumbling in, smiling.
Emma's POV
"I will. They're too drunk for it." Joe says. I roll my eyes. "Id rather smoke alone." i say turning around heading outside. No surprise, Joe comes anyway.
I take a hit off the blunt and pass it to Joe. He breaks the silence by saying "You and Cody just friends, huh?" he smirks after exhaling.
"None of your business." i say standing in front of him taking the blunt.
"Too bad. He seemed better for you." i inhale and get what's he's implying. "Oh you mean better than Derek? Don't worry, he won't try to rape me so you don't need to watch my every move tonight." i say rolling my eyes.
"That's not even what i meant." he says furrowing his eyebrows. "I know what you meant. For a slut, i'm pretty smart." i say mocking him from when he called me a slut.
"You just act like one. Not that you are one." he takes the blunt out of my hand. "Wow that makes it so much better. You can have the rest, i don't want anymore." i say about to head back inside. He grabs my arm.
"Why are you being like this?"
"Because you say shit like that! And you wonder why i don't want to talk to you." I yank away from him.
"I'm only looking out for you." his voice raises a bit. "Well stop!" i yell. "I don't need you to!"
"Clearly you do! Because if it wasn't for me-" He stops. "Go on say it!" i yell stepping closer to him.
"Tell me how much of a slut i am! Do it!" I yell and i push him.
He puts his hands on my neck with his thumbs placing on my jawline and brings me into him putting his lips on mine. I'm shocked. So shocked i don't even pull away. His lips colliding with mine, so in sync i don't want to pull away.
But he does. We just stare at each other for a couple of seconds, stunned. This isn't allowed, He's my brothers best friend. Well, step brother's. But STILL.
He doesn't say anything but goes inside. I watch him through the glass door say something to Caspar who is now on the couch watching something with Lucy, then walk upstairs.
I then go inside and look in the kitchen then back to the living room.
"Did Cody go to bed?" i ask Casp.
"Yeah, he was getting sick." i nod. "Yeah i feel a bit sick too. Im going up."
