Hidden Confusion

"Emma!" i heard Cody's voice yell from downstairs. My eyes widened and then i heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I quickly pulled the blanket over Joe escaping from his arm thus making him awaken. He had a confused expression "What're you-" i cut him off by putting a finger to his lips shushing him.

"Em, you awake?" cody asks getting closer to my room.

Joe curls into a ball under the blankets, "Yeah! i'm awake." i say back clearing my throat. The door opens and Cody smiles at me. "Hey! So, i was getting more wood from the front of the house and this car stopped in front of the driveway and it was some girl but she was really nice and invited me to this party she's throwing at her house, she said i can bring everyone! Free booze as well." he smirks.

I smile widely. "Sounds like fun."

"Hey, where's Joe? Jack and I wanted to go cliff jumping again and i wanted to invite him." he asks putting his hands in his pockets. I feel Joe's hand place on my thigh. I bit my lip and thought of something on the spot "Oh he texted me saying he was going on a walk.. to see if there were any hot girls nearby." I added at the end almost in a questionable tone.

Cody chuckles. "Of coooourse. By the way-" he says then points to his hair but raises his eyebrows at me. "Looking sexy." i realize he's indicating my hair is a mess but he leaves chuckling.

"Finally." Joe says pushing the covers off.

He breathes in heavily a couple times trying to pretend he almost suffocated. I roll my eyes and get up out of the bed to go to the bathroom. When i stand up i realize I'm wearing just a big shirt and underwear.

"I can see why he called you sexy." Joe says and i turn around to catch him checking me out.

"Uh, that's not why-"
"I thought you two were just friends." Joe cuts me off getting out of the bed towards me. "We are?" i give him a confused look.

"He clearly sees you more as a friend or else he wouldn't have said that!" Joe says a little intimidated. I just stare at him. Contemplating whether or not i want to see if he'll get jealous or not.

"Getting a little jealous, are we?" i raise my eyebrows at him.

He just shakes his head looking away, licking his lips then back at me. "I'm not jealous, I don't get jealous." he finishes. I can tell he's lying because he's sucked in his bottom lip and is raising his eyebrows at me.

"He was talking about my morning hair, so he was being sarcastic." i finally say.

Joe's tongue poked the inside of his cheek now realizing how fired up he got about it.

"Now get out so i can shower." I head for the bathroom door. "I could just join you, save water." I don't even hesitate to turn around i just stick my middle finger up in the air and go into the bathroom, locking the door.

Joe's POV
I watch her walk in the bathroom and I let out a chuckle as she raises her middle finger in reply to my comment. I head out of her room thinking about what happened.

Falling asleep next to her and waking up with her. Well, woken up by her shoving the covers over me. But, still. She let me stay with her. Which is confusing because she just kept reminding me about how wrong it would be for us to do anything like that, or further than that.

I even confessed i want her.

Do i? I know every time i'm around her i feel uncontrollable. As if i'm going to rip her clothes off right then and there not caring if someone saw.

But, i also know when i think about her with someone else, it angers me.

To the point where i could rip a guy's head off.

As cliché as it is, i really am unsure of my feelings for her. They're either horny feelings or feelings feelings.

And i agree with Emma, it could mess up everything we have right now. Well, before we started acting like First Graders who pick on each other when they actually like them.

But, at the same time I can't help but to think it would turn out even better than what we had.
