Ignorance

Joe's POV

it was Monday morning and Oli is finally back from visiting his family in Georgia. He also doesn't have a first period like me so i go and pick him up.

"Hey man, how was georgia" i ask. "It was good. Anything interesting happen though? Heard Alfie had quite a party." he smirked.

Is he talking about what happened with emma?

"What do you mean? Was just a normal party." i shrug it off. "Come on! Ryan told me what happened to Derek." Ryan is one of Oli's friends that we don't really talk to. I don't think he likes us very much. "He deserved it." i say gripping on the steering wheel. "I agree." he says and it goes silent. "Is emma okay?" he asks.

Emma and i haven't talked since Saturday morning when she stormed out of my room.

"Yeah she's good. He didn't rape her. Almost though." Oli nods his head and we arrive at school.

Emma's POV
"Okay. See you at lunch." Lucy says and i smile at her and watch her walk off then grab my textbook out of my locker. Lucy just told me that she's been seeing Caspar. And she didn't want to keep it from me and that it just started happening because Caspar also doesn't like to smoke and they just hit it off very well.

I was actually fine with it. I'm glad Caspar has someone like her to keep him happy.

I close my locker and see Joe walking towards me. I roll my eyes and turn to go the opposite way but he catches up to me.

"How long you gonna keep this up?" he asks. "Till they put my body in a casket." i reply with a fake smile. He rolls his eyes. "Come on i'm sorry. I don't know why you're so mad about what i said, anyway."

"Because instead of asking how i was doing or if i was okay or telling me it wasn't my fault, you called me a slut!" i say folding my arms across my chest as the hallway clears and it's just him and i.

"I'm sorry! But you didn't want to come with me. You wanted to stay with him!" i roll my eyes and walk away from him.

I don't know why it hurts so much for him to call me that. If it was someone else i probably wouldn't have cared.

My group of friends has collided with Caspar's at the lunch table now because Violet and Jack and Lucy and Caspar. It doesn't effect any of us though because we all usually hangout together anyway. Only effects me that Joe is here. Thankfully he's at the other end of the table.

"You're really not talking to him?" Allison asks me, looking at Joe. "Nope." i say putting a fork full of mac n cheese in my mouth.

She shrugs and asks how i feel about Lucy and Caspar. "Honestly i don't really mind it." i admit. "That's good. So it won't be awkward when they make out in front of you?" she nudges me with a smirk. "Ew. I'm eating. Don't make me barf." she laughs and i laugh as well.

"Wanna come to mine?" i ask my lab partner Cody. We have an assignment we need to work on and we haven't finished. "Yeah. Here's my number." he writes a few numbers on a piece of paper then rips it out and hands it to me. "Text me your address." he smiles at me.

I get home and my parents have left to Jacksonville because my Mom's sister is moving and they wanted to help.

Or because they like getting out of the house.

They're never really home anymore. Fine with me though, i get away with a lot.

"Caspar i'm having Cody over. Gotta do some homework." i say walking in the living room then notice he's with Alfie and Joe. I make no eye contact with Joe, only Caspar.

"Aren't you gonna say hello?" Joe says. "Hey Alfie! how're you and Zoe?" i smile at him ignoring Joe. He laughs noticing what i'm doing. "We're good, thanks." I look at Joe and raise my eyebrows then hear the doorbell and go and get it.

"Hey Cody."

"Hiyaaa."

We go upstairs to my room.
