Promise? (Scomiche Fanfiction)

Chapter 11

Scott's Pov 

Robyn and Rosie were walking solemnly along the sidewalk. Behind them was an older, scruffy looking man who I assumed was their 'uncle' we had been told about. Rosie was clung tightly onto Robyn's arm, looking as though she had tears in her eyes. I was about to walk over to them but when I turned around, Mitch was already running across the road. I ran after him and as we got to the sidewalk, Rosie looked up and screamed.

"SCOTTIE!!!! MIT MIT!!!"

She ran to me and I instantly picked her up, hugging her close to me as she cried with tears of joy.

Robyn ran over to Mitch and held him tightly as though he would disappear if she let go.

Then David walked over.

"Erm let my children go! You have no right to just pick them up like that!", he said, coming towards me and trying to grab Rosie

She held tighter onto me and the second he touched her she screamed. She then kicked her little legs at him and cried furiously, never letting go of me.

"Leave her alone, she clearly does want you touching her!" I shouted back.

"Scottie, please don't let meanie David take me!" Rosie whined.

"It's okay princess, I won't let him take you", I said passing her to Mitch.

"Ooo look at this, the gay douche wants a fight eh?"

"If it means the kids don't have to spend another second with you, then yes"

I quickly turned to Mitch giving him a look to get out of here. He ushered the kids over the street quickly, getting himself and them into the car. David saw this and began to run over but before he could go anywhere, I punched him square in the face, causing him to fall to the floor. I held him down and glanced at Mitch who was ringing what I hoped was the police. David struggled against my grip, but I wasn't about to hit him again seeing as the police could then arrest me as well. Robyn and Rosie were also looking at me, crying from the car and I wasn't about to upset them anymore than they already were. A few minutes later the police turned up, alarming David. He struggled out of my grip only to be tackled back to the ground by 2 cops. Moments later, another cop came to talk to me. I explained the whole situation truthfully and told him about the kids being in danger. He then explained to me that there was to be a court case against David and to review the kids dad. Then came the most devastating part. The social worker appeared from a police car and walked over to me. At this point I was in tears. After being so close to getting the kids back, they had to be taken again. I was like taking two steps forwards and about 10 steps back. I nodded and sighed at the social worker, whose name I found out was Nicole by now, before walking over to the car. Mitch broke down in tears when he saw me walking back, assuming he knew what was happening, so did Robyn. Rosie also hadn't stopped crying from the moment I picked her up. I opened the doors allowing Mitch and the girls to get out before suddenly realizing Freddie was nowhere to be seen.

"Robyn!" I exclaimed, "Where's Freddie?"

"He's back at David's flat. Hes okay though, I think."

"Okay I'll tell the police honey, and don't worry, everything's gonna be okay", I explained

Robyn nodded, still crying and hugged me close to her, Rosie now in Mitch's arms, the pair of them sobbing.

"Promise?"

"Promise. And I won't break it this time."

We needed to go and hand the girls back over but Robyn was in such a state from sobbing her legs were weak, so I carried her over the street, as Mitch did with Rosie. Nicole gave us all a sympathetic smile as I placed Robyn down and let her get into the car. Nicole then tried to grab Rosie but she wasn't having it.

"NO!! Don't take me away! I want Scottie and Mit Mit", she screamed. This broke my heart. I swore, the minute we could get them back we were gonna do it and I vowed I'd try to give all of them whatever they wanted, within reason of course.

I took her from Mitch before wiping away her tears.

"Listen, Sweetie, I know you don't want to go, and we don't want you to leave either but we promise as soon as we can, we're gonna come get you okay, and then you can come stay with me and Mit Mit. and you can have your own little princess room and we promise you'll never have to leave, alright?"

"Pwomise?"

"We promise Princess and I'm not lying this time"

"Okay", she said quietly before I placed her on the sidewalk and she ran into the car with Robyn.

"You two are so good with them and they clearly love you guys loads and again, I'm sorry but they can't stay with you."

"It's okay we understand. Also their little brother is in his apartment still and Robyn knows where it is."

"Okay thank you sir, well get on that right away."

"Okay thanks".

Mitch and I then said our final goodbyes to the girls and again, just like before they were gone. But this time, we were definitely gonna get them back.
