the sky is the greatest remedy
against loneliness,
i look up at the infinite blue
and i realise you are looking at it, toothe sky is the greatest source
of loneliness,
i look up at the stars
and i realise that i am the centre
of my visible universethe precise configuration of light
that's reaching me right now
can only be seen by my eyes
from where i'm currently standingthe scattered trails of blinking stars and stardust,
the giant silver-purple streaks stretching
over ancient black canvas --
it all seems so empty and lifeless,
dead beauty
winter's beautyis there anybody out there?
all those stars...
they can't all be lifeless
can they?i wonder if you're out there,
somewhere
looking up at the stars
thinking this as well.
