lotus in a slushie

red elephant
blue wishbone
murderer in black,
alabaster allocated
onto white canvas
in yellow sunlight
gleaming through
a pink neon slushie
(a silver chrome salad)

a lotus flower blooms

the beautiful
untainted
lotus
grows beneath the slushie's
artificial flavouring
and food dyes
and acids

after the humming
white fluorescent tubes
flicker into darkness
the lotus will float
to the surface of
the acid pink
chemical bath

the lotus blooms
without considering its own
temporary beauty
it simply spreads its
porcelain petals

it simply blooms

when it withers
and lands onto
the immaculate white tile floor

it will not lament itself

the lotus simply dies

no one will be there
to see it:
the passing of its life
