APPROXIMATELY
80 THOUSAND YEARS AGO
two hairy bipedal creatures
were escaping a volcanic eruption
today,
archaeologists have uncovered
the footprints they left in the ash,
their trail extends 28 metres
the first pair of footsteps
already falters at the 10 metre
mark
it walks with a noticeable
limp
which becomes
more pronounced
at the 16 metre mark
the footsteps grow fainter
until the creature collapses.
the second creature
shows no signs of physical
impairment
but it went no further
than the 28 metre mark.
there
the ash covered them both.
