musings of a wandering square

16 2 1

has the Universe already ended,
on the other side
of a long and winding
four-dimensional snake?

somewhere,
out there
in a space
i can't even fathom,
perpendicular
to the three dimensions
i see,

could all the ultraviolet nebulae
and blinking pulsar stars
have fizzled out
already,
in a vast
immensity
of nothingness,
where no light
ever shines?

is the end of Time,
the end of Space
and Matter
and Galaxies and Everything

just
as close
to this
very second
as the ceiling of a room
lies
just above
a wandering square
drawn upon a sheet
of two-
dimensional paper?

[if so,
what are
da winnin' numbers

fa tomahrows
lahterry game ?]
