want

feel the wretched pulling
of WANT
the way it whispers into
your ear
ever so enticing
the worry that you WANT it
but you do not HAVE it --

feel the rusty chains pulling
you apart
"more! more! more!"
they say,
the hunger grows stronger
the more that you eat --
"MORE! MORE! I WANT IT ALL!"

you try to stop
but you can't,
swallowing the splinters of
each barrier you break
with a bending frog's tongue,
black as tar and minked
by half-submerged flies
in flesh
twitching in the
rotten taffy

feel the hunger ,
become the hunger
the hunger that ends
in the self devouring ecstasy
of digesting your
own flesh.
