Baekhyun's heart nearly bursts out of his chest the moment he opens his eyes the next morning. Even though he was so drunk he might as well forget his whole lifetime the next morning, he somehow remembers everything, crystal clear.

Chanyeol's words runs through his mind over and over again, his determined eyes boring into his forever etched in his mind.

Baekhyun's heart speeds up.

Is it true? Or is it a dream?

But even as he turns over and sees Chanyeol sleeping soundly next to his bed, he knows yesterday was too real to be unreal, and yet to ideal to be real.

He forces himself to calm down.

After all, they were both drunk yesterday, so Baekhyun shouldn't have his hopes up.

He might forget it this morning ... Baekhyun tells himself. He might not keep his word ... He might be lying to me ... He might just be saying it for the sake of it, or to look good ...

He doesn't mean it ...

And even though it does his heart some sinking problems, he settles with that, settles with the low expectations, because he's spent too much of his energy setting his expectations at a place where no one can ever reach, and spent too much of his life waiting for someone to exceed them, but only to be disappointed each and every time.

Don't expect too much. Don't expect anything.

He doesn't mean anything ...

He means nothing ...

With that, Baekhyun goes back to sleep with an exhausted mind, a throbbing head, a burning body, and a racing heart.

Chanyeol wakes up feeling like his chest is about to explode.

What the hell was he doing yesterday?

He remembers everything as if it had happened a few seconds ago.

God ing dammit what the hell had he been thinking, spilling what he had wanted to say for ages? How goddamn embarrassing is that? Why couldn't he just silently do it, instead of going and blabbing about everything?

His face is red. His ears are purple.

But he can't take it back now.

And if he's completely honest with himself, he doesn't want to take it back.

Luckily he doesn't have much of a hangover, just a small headache. But as he gets up and turns his head to look at Baekhyun, he realises the other is sleeping soundly, blankets kicked around him, his usual sleeping habit. Fortunately he doesn't have class in the morning, which is why he had chosen to follow Baekhyun yesterday night.

But before he can do anything else, his phone rings. Without thinking much, he answers it.

"OI!!!!! WHERE WERE YOU LAST NIGHT?!" Chen shouts into the phone, and Chanyeol winces, moving it away from his ear. At first, he contemplates whether to tell Chen, but in the end his brain hurts. it.

"... I followed him."

"... ... ..." There is silence on the other line for so long that Chanyeol at first thought Chen had hung up, but then he answers. "... You did? How'd it go?"

"... To be honest, I don't know." Chanyeol sighs. "He hasn't even woken up, so I don't know how he'll react with me."

"He came home last night, right? Back to your room?"
