-Elise's POV-
I saw Chris stand by a lamppost outside the coffee shop,
I gulped and shakily sorted my studded faux leather jacket, looking in a shop window at my reflection.
My jacket was my item to hide behind, so I atleast don't look like complete dirt next to him as much as I feel like it.
He welcomed me with a smiled,
Putting his hand out for me to shake but it turned into a warm embrace.-Chris's POV-
I felt her tense as I hugged her,
Me still trying to figure her out from her body language,
"Hello"
"Hey, uhh"
"Elise, my names Elise " she nodded looking up then down at her feet,
"Hey, Elise, I'm Chris, wanna get inside?"
"Sure" she said quietly,
We ordered two coffees, and I decided to order two muffins because it looked like she hadn't had any breakfast, infact it looked like she didn't have any breakfast in a while by the looks of her.
We sat down on the second floor by the window, where we were alone.
We looked outside at the grey sky, a roar of thunder echoed across the streets of Glasgow,
A small smile spread across her face as rain began to pour against the window,
"You like the rain huh?"
"Love the rain"
"Why is that then" I smiled sipping my hot drink,
"The sound, it's calming,"
"Yeah I guess your right"
I bit into my cake and pushed the other toward her,
"You should probably eat that"
"I have a high metabolism I can't put on weight" she sighed,
"Oh no I didn't mean it like- I just meant-
"It's fine, I get it a lot"
She ate her cake,
The quiet girl never spoke unless she was asked something, which I found peculiar, we didn't talk like regular friends did at a coffee shop, if she even wants me to call her my friend that is, of course I was getting ahead of myself, we were still only strangers who said hello on the train, nothing else, but I didn't want to be this way forever.
I want to be able to see her in the streets and us both pull out a smile, or be able to hang out whenever we wanted and not worry about being judged or-
My zoning out session stopped when another roar of thunder struck the sky,
"So, what do you do for a living then"
She gave me a fed up look.
"Well, I can understand that you work in a cafe, and also clean venues,"
"I used to be a tattoo artist but my studio went out of business, used to do piercings too actually"
"Wow really, can I see some of your work?"
She shrugged showing me her arm,"Wow, a moth huh, I like the style actually"
"I was afraid of moths for years, I used to see them as the butterflies from hell, but when I thought about it, they do have some beauty to them even if they look intimidating"
"Just like you then" I smiled,
She bit her lip and carried on sipping her coffee, her cheeks begged to blush but she wouldn't let a sense of emotion seep through.
"I love your jacket by the way"
"I love yours too Chris" she said glancing at the stands on my shoulders.
"I have to leave soon for home back to Scranton"
"What's it like"
"Huh?"
"America, everyone here would kill just to live the American Dream"
"The American Dream has been dead for years," I chuckled,
"Not to them it's not, anywhere is better than here, jobs are scarce" she said glancing outside.
"I can't complain though, I mean it's home isn't it" I shrugged,
"Yes, we must be grateful that we aren't sucking a dictator's cock every morning just to stay safe each day"
I choked on my coffee, and laughed, "I like you! See we are getting along!, I knew there was some humour in you" I said wiping my mouth with a napkin and standing up,
We got out of the cafe and I noticed she was limping,
I frowned and noticed a bandage under her sleeve,
"Hey you Okay?"
"I'm fine" she tugged down her sleeve.
"What now then" I stopped,
"You want to be with me more?"
"Well yeah duh, your kinda chill to hang out with"
She shook her head and smiled looked around,
"Besides, you make me feel young again"
"We are pretty much the sa,e age you know that right"
"I know but I feel kinda outdated and you seem to still have the fire in you"
"Well what is it you would like to do?" She shrugged,
I looked through a shop window to see a couple of skateboards on sale,
"Ever skated?"
She raised her pierced eyebrow.---
"Holy fucking shit your so much better than me!"
"What did you think I was an amateur at this?!" She yelled as she sped infront of me,
"No I just thought you wouldn't be so confident on wheels that's all! Whoo!"
"Are you kidding! Skating was my everything as a teenager!"
"Same here!"
We both skated for around two hours at this abandoned skatepark that was covered in graffiti.
It was freezing outside and my American skin was certainly not used to the coldness,
"What temperature is it?" I shivered,
She looked on her phone, "-2*"
"Are you kidding its spring!"
"Welcome to Scotland" she shrugged,
I shivered and headed out of the park,
"Wait," I stopped,
"You got something sharp- oh okay you got a switchblade of course you do"
I took the knife from her that was originally placed in her sock surprisingly enough,
I carved our initials onto the back of our boards,
She let out a small smile,
I still shivered like mad, until I felt a jacket being placed around me,
"I'm supposed to be doing that for you" I smiled wrapping her coat around me,
"Meh" she said.
"Meh to you too" I chuckled as we both headed back to the train.Hey guys,
