-Chris's POV-
"Just be careful," said Elise sorting my collar,
"It will be fine, I'm only meeting an old friend"
"What did you say this place was again?"
" a psychiatric hospital, look I'll be fine, I'll phone ghost when I'm ready to be picked up, but she might want to meet you"
"Why would she want to meet me she doesn't know me" she frowned,
"Who knows, maybe you will"
"Alright I guess you better head inside then, ricky, ghost and I are going shopping, and call me if there's issues"
"I will, relax, it will be alright." I smiled,
She nodded getting in the car as I stood before a large old fashioned gate.
Ghost got in also and Rick stayed leaning against the bonnet,
"You better not fuck this up Chris" he shook his head getting in the car.
"I won't."
The car drove off and I was left in the middle of nowhere,
Fog coated the area and was so intense that I could only see trees in the distance and a large iron gate that had been rusted away from years of decay.
I unlocked it, the squeaks and creaks from the hinges echoed across the marshes that surrounded the area which I cannot see from the mist.
My breath hitched as I stood inside the gated off area.
As soon as I passed the gate the echoes of the crows from the outside had disappeared.
Like I stepped into another universe, this place had been blocked from the rest of the world.
I stood at the other side of the gate looking at a long, old, sandstone bridge that was covered in moss. I could barely see half of it due to the fog.
I slowly walked across the bridge looking down at the marshes below,
I noticed the barbed wire at the sides to stop people from jumping over the edge.
I gulped as I made it across after what seemed like an eternity.
I stopped looking up at the building,
There it was.
Östermalm Asylum.
The home of her mother, I had finally made it.
I opened the door and got to the front desk.
The inside, green tiles on the walls, old fashioned lights hung from the ceiling, creaking and swinging above your head like they would fall any minute.
A lady, with a wooden cross around her neck sat at the front desk, a tired, elderly soul reading through papers.
It was so silence and abandoned like that it felt like me and her were the only ones in this entire place.
"Excuse me" I said quietly trying not to disturb the silence.
She looked up,
"I'm looking for one of your patients called Lisa King"
"Why might you ask?"
"I was wondering if I could visit her and even speak with her"
She looked up at me confused.
"I believe you have the wrong hospital sir, I can tell by your accent your not from here"
"Can you just check, please"
She sighed and looked through the files cabinet.
"Why are you visiting her might I ask" she said opening her file
"I need to speak about her family,"
"No one has ever visited our patients in over 30 years" she said hauntingly.
Chills ran down my spine as I went tense.
"Patienten 192 till besöksrummet" she spoke into a microphone,
(Patient 192 to the visiting area)
"Come with me"
I followed the lady,
Walking though ward after ward,
People watching though their own little room staring at me,
Some of them banging on the windows to get out.
"Are they always like that?"
"Most of them are completely out of their minds, we have wife beaters and child abusers in here it's a shame a lady like Lisa is made her way in here. She's different from the rest"
"I'm what way-
"Here we are, take your time and no fighting"
She left down the hall.
I gulped and opened the door.
The room was grey, cold and enclosed.
The Room had a slayer of dust on the table and shelves indicating this place has not been used in years,
I sat at the table and looked infront of me,
A lady with dashing blonde hair sat before me,
Sat in a wheelchair, head down.
"L-Lisa?"
She looked up at me, looking at me like it was the first time she had ever seen a new face in this building.
"Your Lisa King right?"
"That is correct"
Her voice making my breath hitch, the formal way she spoke reminded me of Elise.
"My name is Chris, Chris Cerulli" I said sticking my hand out,
Her hand which was slowly withering away shook my hand gently, her skin soft just like her daughter's.
"Why such a peculiar man like you have come to visit me?" She asked.
"I- I wanted to ask you a few questions, about your husband-
"If you are one of those interviewers I am not interested-
"No no I promise you this isn't for the media, or anything okay"
"Yeah sure" she said standing up,
"No no please don't go, I know how it feels"
She looked at me confused,
"I know how it feels to be nipped at constantly by the media, I'm a front man in a band, all eyes are on me all the time I would never exploit you to anyone because I know how it feels"
"Why should I trust you"
"I- Lisa I'm friends with your daughter" I blurted out.
Her body snapped,
Her face in shock as she shakily collapsed back into her chair.
"E-Ellie?" She whimpered.
"That's right, Elise,"
"W-where is she"
"She is here, in Sweden."
"She was such a bright child" she shook her head.
"Clever girl" I smiled,
"Clever girl with foolish decisions"
"Why do you say that?"
"Her fathers business was at his highest, but days before her 16th birthday she ran away"
"I was wondering why she ran away?"
"She overheard us talking about her running the business one night, she said she went out with her friends but never returned that night, the next night or for the next 8 years,"
I nodded,
"She didn't want to be apart of her fathers inherited business?"
"She despised it, but I never understood why, because none of us know what his business is"
"You don't know your own husband's business?" I frowned.
"He is a very secretive man, besides his customers are very confidential"
"But the thing I dint understand is that she must know what his business was about to run away from it"
"I don't know"
"What was he like then? Edmund"
"He- he fucked me up" she nodded
"Got me into heroin, God knows what else, it was the lifestyle i had signed up for,"
"Was he abusive at all?"
"Oh yes, but he was kind when he wanted to be, he never touched my girls though,"
"What about Elise's sister?"
"Christa, yeah she was a kind soul, shame the way she ended up"
"Where did she end up?"
"After Elise left she took her own life, everything kinda fell apart after Elise left, the business fell, we stopped earning money, I turned to drugs, and was homeless for years. I haven't seen Edmund in years, he pays for me to stay here but I haven't seen him once"
" I am so sorry"
"That is quite alright, but may I ask you a favour"
"Sure"
"Can I see my little girl, just this one time?,"
I nodded brining out my phone.
"I may warm you, this may shock you when you see her, I'll see what I can do" I smiled putting my hand on her shoulder, leaving the room ready to phone Elise.
