-Chris's POV-
I awoke from a restless slumber, and noticed Elise mumbling in her sleep,
I got out of bed and put my hand over her forehead noticing her skin was ice cold,
I took off my hoodie which i slept in and wrapped it over her.
I got changed and headed out of the bus,
I got on the train and stopped at the central station in Munich and wandered the streets searching for the location the author sent me,
My stomach churned as I saw the coffee shop I was looking for
There she was, sitting by the window drinking coffee,
I headed inside and ordered a latte sitting down in front of her,
She was clearly taken back by my appearance at first, but after making eye contact she flashed me a smile.
"Johanna"
"Chris" I smiled as we shook hands,
"I was expecting you to be some rich journalist" she chuckled putting a pile of papers on the table,
"And I was expecting you to be German"
"I moved away, couldn't live in the states no more" she shrugged,
"Why is that?" I frowned
"I was the last ever journalist to interview Edmund, after that his security team advised me to move away, restrictions on what he could say got stricter after the interview, so when I published the book I had to move away"
"Did they ever tell you why?"
"Nope, who knows, maybe they were scared that they let out a secret"
"That's what I was going to ask you, what did he actually say at that interview"
"He was always on edge, I asked him about how his business rates were getting along, I never found out any more than what the other interviewers got, we couldn't ask our own questions, they were given to us to ask"
"But don't you think it was suspicious that you were the last interviewer of his? There must have been something said that was different from the rest" I said Sipping my drink.
"Actually- he did mention a name, who said that he was a big help with his business I believe his name was James, he was his close friend i believe, that was when the security guard stopped him speaking and forced me to leave the room."
"James huh? Got a second name"
"James Lartzon I believe"
"Sounds Swedish" I shrugged writing it down.
"Is it true he has children?" She asked in shock,
"Two girls I believe, I know one of them"
"How old is she?" She said eagerly
"Early 20s"
"You met her?"
"Of course, she's a close friend of mine,"
"What is her name?"
"Elise,"
" I bet she's beautiful like her mother"
"Yeah, she really is" I smiled looking down getting a photo of her;"Wow, not what I was expecting"
"She has changed a lot since she was younger, not that I know much"
"I was going to say, if you are friends with his daughter then why are you asking me?"
"She doesn't share much about her life, she's like an unknown gem"
"Poor thing, she's probably terrified to tell you"
"You don't understand, Elise she's- she's not the scared type trust me."
"You might think that, but if she's so unknown to you then how are you so sure?"
I gulped, she was right, I had no idea what was going on on the inside.
How dare me to judge her like that.
"Thankyou I think I've got what i need"
"Good luck Chris, it was good to meet you"
"You too" we hugged,
I was about to exit when she yelled,
"Chris?!"
"Yeah"
"Just- be careful, it can be dangerous"
"Alright"
I left the coffee shop, butterflies in my stomach,
Dangerous?
I don't think I know as much as I thought I did.
