Love will tear us apart

-Chris's POV-

I leaned against the wall of the local grocery store which Lyla worked at.
She reported to us that Edmund shops here regularly.
Which is why me, Hannah Elise and vinny are hiding under cover hoping to catch them in their tracks,
I looked over at vinny who was hiding behind a bench across the street in his element.
I rolled my eyes, I don't even know why he's here, let's just hope the instructions were clear to him.

-one hour earlier-
We all huddled over a coffee table in a local coffee shop.
"Okay, so the plan is, I will wait for him to get inside the store, I will burst the gas pipe on his car. Then, we wait until Edmund has driven off. Lyla will give us the signal once he has left the store, then Elise will throw the broken glass onto the road, which will signal you vinny to wait for their tires to flatten and their car to stop. You throw a match at the gas tank and boom caught fire" said Ryan.
"Alright! This is like some 007 James Bond shit! " said vinny getting excited.
"Easy vinny, don't get too ahead of yourself, we have one shot at this"
"Which is why I have the perfect thing to go with the perfect mission" he grinned.
"It's not a mission, this ain't some game" I said
He slammed a case of walki-talki devices.
"My lord" said Elise not amused.
"I haven't used these since I was fucking 12 vinny" said Ryan.
"Shut up, these costed hundreds! And finally I am able to use these motha fuckas!!" He screamed.
Everyone in the coffee shop went silent and stared at us.
"Right does everyone know the plan? Lyla should text me in the next couple of minutes"
"Wait what if Ryan doesn't stab the gas tank in time we should have a back up" said vinny.
"Don't start-
He brung out a BB gun,
"Huh? Oh come on it's not even a proper gun, relax mate" said vinny patting me on the back.
"I do not trust him with a gun" Elise shook her head.
"Don't worry baby I've played all the grand theft autos." He winked.
We all rolled our eyes,
"She texted me, let's get this on" said Ryan.
"Let's kill some criminals!!" Yelled vinny, walki-talki in the air.
An old lady with my coffee stood shakily behind him.
Vinny turned to the shocked lady.
"Hiya" he smiled,
"Let's get out of here" I grabbed Elise's hand and we left.

-Present Time-

I watched Ryan as he crawled under Edmunds car grabbing his switchblade,
I heard vinny holding back the laughter.
I shook my head, Elise hitting his leg to make him be quiet.
Lyla gave us the signal but Ryan couldn't pierce it with his knife.
"Shit" he cussed as he rushed behind the wall.
"Vinny, you'll have to shoot it"
"Yes son!"
Elise threw down the glass and nails but another car came rushing round the corner.
"Shit vinny don't shoot!"
The car swerved and came speeding towards Elise and vinny,
"Ellie watch out!" I screamed,
They both got out safely.
The driver stormed out of his vehicle.
"you, you fucked with the road," he grabbed vinny,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" Elise got involved.
"Lucky your slut is here or I would have wiped that smirk off your pathetic face" he growled.
He left and I ran to Elise.
"Ellie, darling you okay?"
"No, we missed them I have to go after the-
"No, Elise that was far to dangerous, we ain't doing that again"
"You aren't but I am-
"No! No you are not!" I pushed her back, stopping her from pushing past me.
"I knew I shouldn't have gotten anyone involved with this" she shook her head,
" this is t you Elise! They think we're dead let's just leave it! And live our lives normally again" I sighed.
"I'm a shitty person Chris it's been that way for a long time-
"No! Your Not!-
"This is my chance!-
"Elise it's over!!!" I beamed in her ear,
She flinched and stepped back.
Vinny and Ryan stood in shock, as did Hannah.
"Let's just go home, be like we used to be" I said frustrated.
She nodded emotionless, tears welling up.
I sighed and put my arms around her,
"It's over guys, go home" I yelled.
I got in the car as did Elise.
I put on the radio and joy divison filled our ears.
"Let's just crawl under the covers and have a chill day yeah?"
She kept quiet.
I sighed,
"Oh, the silent treatment now huh? Why cause you couldn't kill your dad"
"He isn't my father"
"Look, whatever you did before, isn't you now"
"You don't know that, what I did before is like a stain that won't come out"
"No one likes stains" I said.
"Maybe your right, if your wanting a normal relationship you have definitely looked in the wrong direction"
"Your not a killer!-
"No, no I'm not, my plan was never to kill. But the world I have been brought up in is much different to yours."
"You've been in the same world, just in the wrong places"
"Killed or be killed, that's how I see it" she got out of the car and headed into the house.
I sighed and followed her,
"Your on edge all the time! Like someone from your past is gonna kill you behind your back, sometimes I even think that you think I would kill you!"
"I layed my guard down, for the first time, and look where it has got me, infact look where it has got us! Hannah, my mother, and you"
"And why did you let it down, enlighten me" I said sarcastically,
"Love"
I looked up at her.
"I was blinded by love. I forgot, you helped me forget, and now he is back,"
"Ellie-
"He is back and he has hurt more than just me! Your little sister was raped by that man! And it's on me! Don't try and say it wasn't because It's not gonna change my mind"

"That's what I have been trying to do ever since you kissed me"
"What? Change me? Sometimes I think who's more crazier, you or my crime endorsed father"
"I wanted you to be-
"What? Normal"
"Lovable"
"Because you can't love me the way I am" she nodded.
"No-
"Just say it, admit it you've been feeling this way the whole time"
"No, I love you Elise, your the blood in my veins I crave as soon as I wake up just for it to be nightfall again just so I can sleep next to you, and wake up next to you,"
"You have me lost"
"I say lovable because when I tell you I love you, you don't feel it. I say loveable because when I kiss you, you kiss me back as if it was a dare and that it is meaningless. I say loveable because I say your beautiful you take it as if I was joking."
"Chris-
"You are so convinced that I don't love you that when anyone shows you kindness you believe it like a myth!" I yelled.
"So yes, I wanted to change you, to trust me, and to let your guard down" I calmed
"I wish I could Chris, but you can't change a Wasp and make it into a Rat"
She tensely walked inside and upstairs.

We never slept next to each other that night.
Or the night after that.
Love is tearing us apart again.
