Chapter 20 - Healing Jealously

As Kytara lied on Nero's arms I stood frozen. We were all having fun then these vampires come out to play. Shaking my head I ran towards Kytara. Nero tried to heal Kytara but he wasn't full Angel. I kneeled down, palmed her forehead and put my hand on her bite. The venom is moving fast. I close my eyes and I could feel the venom dissolving away from her blood stream. Sighing I leaned back and watched Kytara breathe steadily. "Is she okay now?" Nero asks looking nervous at her. A light jealously spread through me. I smiled at him. "She's good now. Days rest and she's on her feet in no time." I stood up and started packing up our things. "We should get going. The vamps will catch up." Nero sighed but never stopped watching Kytara. I looked away and packed up. My tent now down and in the bag. "I'll carry her." Nero says, picking her up softly. I nod and walk on. I look up at the stars. The sea is North, west. Not far. Kytara will wake by then.

"How far?" Nero asks breaking the silence. I look at him and smile. "We should be there by tomorrow afternoon." He nods and looks down at the sleeping Kytara. He looks are with adoration. No ever looked at me like that. Kytara was enjoying herself for a change but I don't know what happened. She suddenly changed moods.

"Hope." I look up and found Nero watching me. "You okay?" He asks. I smile. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" I tilt by head still smiling. He shrugs. "You keep creasing your brows. Like your in deep thought." I giggle shaking my head. "You could say that. I'm just thinking about the next trials." I looked ahead. Pestilence is our next key. Once we have every key, they become the vampires gem. The gem to control all vampires. Even get rid of them if need be. "Everything is going to be fine. We will get the keys and go on with our lives." Yeah then your gonna choose Kytara to love for the rest of your life. "Yeah. Of course. I was just over thinking." I dismiss giving him a small smile. "You sure your okay?" I nod. "I'm good." I walk faster so he doesn't catch on to my mood. I'm fine just have this pinch of jealously. No big deal.

It was morning when we stopped to rest. Kytara should wake soon. I threw a bottle of water at Nero. It hit him in the head. I giggle getting him to glare at me playfully. "That hurt." He fake pouted. I giggle more and my strawberries. "Why do yu eat so many fruits?" I shrug. "Animal cruelty." He raises his eye brows. "But other angels eat meat." I look up. His eyes stare in to mine. "I'm different." He chuckles. Kytara squirmed around on Nero's lap. She was waking up. Her eyes shot open and they were wide. She sat up and glared at Nero. "How am I alive right now? And what the fuck was I lying in your lap?" She growls. Her sword bouncing at her hip. "Hope healed you. And well we have no pillows so." Kytara eyes land on me then down to her hip. She sighed and touched her sword. I shake my head and throw her a bottle with white powder. "Put the powder in the bottle then drink it." She catch's the bottle and powder in one hand. "What is it?" She eyes the bottle. "Healing remedy." Nero watch's Kytara, his eyes have never left her. What about me me huh?! I breathe in an out. I'm an angel I don't get jealous. Kytara put the powder in the bottle and drank it. Her face scrunched up with distaste. I looked up and stood with my bag. "We should go." I couldn't stand watching Nero watch Kytara. They are going to be together for ever. Not me. Her. Kytara. Their footsteps behind me told me that they are following. I'm jealous.
