Chapter 21 - Pestilence

I felt bad for blaming Hope for stealing my sword. I hope she understands angels and demons don't and aren't meant to get along. We kept walking in silence but I couldn't help but notice Nero kept turning his attention to me and then quickly looking away. I don't know whats going on in his head but he better get it out of it. He's being naive.

We get to the dirty ocean water. Humans and their filth. "Alright Hope let's do this" I said as I drew Otaro. She rolled her eyes and waved her hands over the water. A wave brought up and crashed itself into us. We were pulled out to the water, waves crashing. I lost sight of Nero and Hope. The waves had me spin and turn. I had to hold onto Otaro with all my strength to stop him from being ripped away from me. The waves crashed up and threw me down on a completely different shore. Black sand and dimmed fires where everywhere. "I never thought id see a demon strong enough to survive the journey here" a boy with a leather jacket and ragged hair said from his spot, leaning against a tree. I coughed up water and looked up at him, "I'm not most demons" I grunted as I stood up, Otaro still at my side. "Oh a brave little princess huh? Or are you the street rat who was raised by a master?" He says. He knows about Hope. And me? "Where are they?" I hissed and He laughed. "Probably lost in the waves for eternity if they couldn't make it here" he says and I run at him but a strong arm quickly wraps around my waist. "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Pestilence hisses in my ear before I was flung against a tree. How the hell did he move so fast. He stalks closer to me as I stumble to my feet again. "You cant beat me" he says and I smile, "i just need a key" I said and he pulls the necklace from his neck to show me he has it. "This one?" He says and I stare at it. The glare from the sun hit the metals and I knew it was really there. Suddenly the necklace disappears and even Pestilence looks stunned. A vampires thrilling laugh sounded around us."Sorry demon" the voice hisses and Pestilence is suddenly grabbed. His howl sounds all around as two vampires tear at his throat. I run to Pestilence and rip the vampires off of him and slash their heads off with Otaro. The vampire with the key goes to dive into the water but someone grabs him and sends him flying back. NERO! The vampire cowards as the hybrid steps closer. Nero quickly snatches the key before grabbing the vampire by the throat and bringing him close, "go for a swim yeah?" He says before throwing the vampire back into the water. I run over the Pestilence who was only just starting to heal. "Are you okay?" I ask holding out a hand, which he takes and stands up. Hope trails behind Nero as he to walks over. "Thank you." He says and I nod my head. "You're welcome to the take the key. Just make sure it is returned" he says and I nod."Thank you" I said and he nodded before I grabbed a hold of the angel and the hybrid and dived us into the water. Don't want to get us split up again.
