Chapter 13 - Famine

The walk was intense. Tension sparked between us all. I didnt care. If they wanna fuck then let em. We stood before the hidden temple, tangled in the trees and vines of the forest, hidden from human eyes. I pushed past the love birds and start climbing the vines to get to the temple opening. Hope said there will be like a portal thing to Famines world. Yay. I got to the top, The hybrid and his angel following a while behind. I jumped up and thought about helping them up but then turned my back and stood near a hole in the temple. Nero jumps up first and helps the angel up after. Clearly her wings still hurt. Sook. I leant against the wall with my arms crossed, waiting for the angel to open the damn portal. The angel took her time but eventually the gateway was opened. Took her long enough. "Now before we go through you should know..." I didnt hesitate. Before she could finish what she was saying, I dived right into the portal. Screw the rules. I just want this over with.

I landed in a crouch. When I jumped through the portal, I found myself hurling to the ground from a two story building. The dimension looked nice. Clean. Id expected everything starving away. I stand up and hear a scream before body lands on me and I fall to the floor. Hope giggles, "sorry Kytara" She says giggling and Nero lands beside us in perfect form. "What happened here?" He asks and I glare at him. "GET OFF OF ME!" I growl and she stands up. I go to stand but then Nero sits on me. I try pushing up but he doesnt budge. "NERO GET OFF!" I scream and he laughs. "Ask nicely" he coos and I keep struggling. "NERO IM SERIOUS!" I growl and he laughs more. "Ask nicely Kytara and then I'll get off. I know you have manners somewhere in you" he says and I growl. "Nero....get off of me....please" I said through gritted teeth and he stood up, a huge smile filled with pride runnimg across his face. I dont know why but I wanted to kiss the smile off his face, bite his lip until it bleed the colour I love so much. Woah woah woah Kytara. Back up. You have a mission and he has the angel. I turned and started walking, following the scent of pure hunger although my thoughts stayed on Nero. I bet he tasted amazing. Like oure ecstasy. STOP KYTARA! An inner voice growled and I did my best to listen. I looked in the distance and saw a boy with pale hair and a hoodie lying on the floor. "FAMINE!" I yell and run to him. He may not be a best friend but ive met him before. Ive met them before and Famine was nice although he would defend the key with his life. The key. I searched around his neck for the key necklace he always wore but it wasnt there. Something I did notice were two bite marks on his neck. Oh god. Vampires have been here and they took the key. I look back at Nero and Hope. My next words had both of them freeze "We have a problem"
