Just Another Day

Chapter 1

Jenny's POV

"Uhhhh," I moan when I wake up.

"What? Are you okay?" Jerome asks me.

"No. My ankles are swollen, my back hurts like crazy, and I can't see my toes. I also have 1 more month of this," I say.

"Just hang in there for one more month. Do you want a belly rub? I'll give your ankles a massage," he says, getting up and he starts massaging my ankles after he gives me a belly rub.

"Oh, thanks, honey," I say.

"Anything for you," he responds.

"Jerome, I'm starving, let's go down and get breakfast," I say.

"Hang on, I need to put on some shorts and a t-shirt. I can't just go down when I'm only in my underwear."

"Okay," I say amd wait for him.

"Come on, this way," Jerome says funny, directing me downstairs."Hey, stay on your side of the hallway, Jason! We have a full load coming through!"

"Jerome! I'm fine, I can walk. I can go down all by myself. Watch," I say and start walking down the stairs.

"Honey, are you okay?" Jerome calls down as I walk down the stairs.

"Shut up! I can walk down the stairs!" I say.

"Alright, I'll wait here until you get all the way down," Jerome says.

"Thank you," I say. I reach the bottom of the stairs and go into the kitchen by myself. Jerome can come down himself.

"Wow! You actually did it!" he exclaims.

"No really?" I say sarcastically.

"How do you feel after that?"

"Hungry and as fine as can be. I can walk down the stairs and anywhere by myself." I say.

"Let's get you and your belly some food!" Jerome says and starts making me my favorite; sunny-side-up eggs and bacon in a smiley face with a granny smith apple as the nose. I also have orange juice to drink. Jerome only eats an egg and a few pieces of bacon.

"Oh, thanks, honey, this is wonderful! My favorite!" I say through a mouthful of food.

"No problem, pumpkin. I love to help you. Especially when you're carrying a child in there," he says with a smile and points to my belly.

"Yeah, well not for too much longer. Uh, only one more month!" I say.

Lilac and Mitch come into the kitchen, hand in hand.

"My goodness, Jenny! Have enough to eat?! When is that thing gonna come out of there?!" Lilac says.

"Well, hello, lovely, engaged couple," Jerome says.

"Lilac, I don't have enough to eat. Uh, I still have 1 more month. Jerome, honey?" I say.

"What is it? Another plate of the exact same thing?" he asks.

"Only if you want. You don't have to. I can go make it myself," I say.

"Oh, no. No need to. I got this," he says and he walks across to the kitchen and makes more of my favorite plate.

"Why are you being so nice Jerome? The lady can get it herself." Mitch said.

"MITCH!" Lilac smacked his arm. "She's prego for gods sake!"

"Hey, I'm happy to do anything I can for Jenny," Jerome says.

"Thank you, babe," I say.

"No problem," he says with a wink.

"I love you," I say.

"I love you, too," he responds.

"Jerome, could you hurry up so I can make Mitch and I breakfast?" Lilac says.

"I'm almost done. Here," he says and hands me my plate.

About a minute later I'm done.

"Goodness! How fast did you eat that?!" Mitch says.

"About a minute or so," I say."I've been getting a lot of recording done lately. I'm gonna go record some more. Thanks again, honey," I say.

"No problem," he says and gets up and wraps his arm around me.

"What's cooking?" Jason asks as he comes in.

"Food." Lilac says.

"What's up with the spouses?" Jason asks.

"FLUFFY! PREGO!" Adam yells as he comes into the kitchen. He wraps his arms around us and Jason does the same

"Group hug!" Jason says.

"Hey, hey, hey! Watch out for Jenny! Don't hurt her or her child-belly!" Jerome says.

"Child-belly!" Jason and Adam say and start patting and rubbing my belly.

"I'm gonna go record now. Bye, honey," I say and give Jerome a quick kiss.

"Bye, pumpkin," he says.

I see Jason and Adam whispering to each other. I decide to ignore it and I start walking towards the stairs. The next thing I know, I'm being lifted up and carried up the stairs.

"Put me down," I whine.

"Okay," they say and gently put me down.

My eyes start to water and soon tears are falling out of my eyes. Jason and Adam see me crying. They run downstairs yelling Jerome's name and I go into my room.

"Jenny?" I hear with a knock.

"Come in," I say and wipe my tears away.

"What's wrong?" he asks.

"Just hormones," I say. "I'm gonna record now," I say and start recording.
