Just Another Day

Chapter 36

Mitch's POV

Lilac and I are slow dancing to Fall for You by Secondhand Serenade. She has her hands on my shoulders and my hands are around her waist. We are slowly swaying back and forth. When the song ends, a faster one comes on, Brave by Sara Bareilles. Lilac starts swaying her head and claps her hands.

"What are you doing?" I ask through a laugh.

"Dancing." She laughs back.

My mom comes up to both of us.

"Congrats." She says hugging me.

"You look beautiful." She says hugging Lilac.

"Thanks." Lilac said and went back to dancing.

My mom laughed and walked away. I grabbed Lilac and pulled her close. I gave her a long soft kiss. As she pulled away she giggled. Her deep green-brown eyes where big and she had a flirty look to her face. We danced until the song ended.

"Tyler!" Lilac called as I spun her around.

Tyler came up to us. He gave Lilac a hug. He patted my back and said:

"Congrats Mitch, you gotta good looking girl."

"Thanks." I replied. He walked away.

Lilac and I went back to dancing. Another song came on, Will you Marry Me by The Dress Train. We ended up making out in the middle of the living room, where almost everyone was.

--Morning--

I felt the covers lift up. The door swung open and slammed shut. Another door was slammed shut almost immediately after that. I tried to go back to sleep. But then I heard Lilac.

"MITCH!" Lilac screamed.

I threw the covers off and run out the door. Adam was in the hall with a confused face.

"Go back to bed." I sad shooing him away. He walked back to his room.

I knocked on the door.

"Who is it." It sounded as if she was crying.

"It's me." I said.

"Come in."

I opened, shut and locked the door quickly.

"What is it?" She was sitting on the floor by the toilet.

"I'm pregnant." Her eyes were glossy and her voice shaky.

She held out a little white object. I took it from her hands, it read positive.

"That's great! Let's go tell everyone!" I tried to pull her up.

"Are you kidding? I can't tell them! I don't know how or when this happened! Obviously you where the one who made it happen but I don't remember when it happened. I don't want a baby! I feel to young! We still have time! Of course eventually I want I kid but not now. Mitch, what do I do?!" Her voice was frantic.

"You should at least tell-" But before I could finish she pulled herself up and stormed out the door.

I stood there, looking at where she was sitting just moments before. Time finally caught up with me. I turned around. By that time she was running down the stairs, one of my jackets in her hand.

"Come back!" I said running after her.

We made it to the living room. I grabbed her arm.

"What wrong?" Jenny asked.

Lilac scowled at her. She jerked away from my grip and ran out the door.

"What's wrong?" Jenny asked.

"I don't know."

"You should."

"She didn't tell me."

"What did she say?"

"She said she didn't feel good and I asked her if she needed anything and she stormed out."

Jenny gave me a look, "Mmm." and she walked back into the kitchen.

I swung open the door.

"Come here!" But by the time I finished she had sped out of the drive way.
